Hollow Bastion

When Krest entered, the attitude of Jairdain was changed. If he could sense emotions, then he would feel the change in her. Instead of hiding from them, she was allowing them the freedom they needed to flow through her. At the same time, she had far better control of them, but didn't lock them away or try to leash the emotions in.

In this mind picture with sight he allowed her, she could actually follow him with her eyes. He sat down at the table and willed in some tea for them to sip. They both knew it wasn't real, but she sat down and picked up the cup anyway.

He was smiling and acting casual and she wondered why.

So subtle had been many of his nudges these past weeks, even Jairdain didn't notice the change within herself. His sly altering of her memories and their fabrication had been slight enough that her real ones were no longer the truth. Something she didn't know. So she thought she acted like she would have normally when facing him.

"What do you want now, Krest?"

Her tone wasn't fully neutral like it would have been and held a touch of anger.

"You've changed quite a bit [member="Jairdain"] ." It would sound like a compliment as he turned his head to the screen. The horrid memories he had attempted to instill were displayed in their glory, further proof of her descent. The anger in her voice, the control of her emotions. "You've seen the lies that the Jedi, the Light, have given you. So I'm here to show you what to do next. The poison that courses through your veins is a product of your lack of control. You've felt the pain fade as you began to control yes? You should be able to wake up when ever you'd like."

Once again he took a sip of his tea, keeping the smile on his lips.

Jairdain narrowed her eyes and shook her head at Krest when he said she had changed. The memories he wanted her to see still played across the table, but her attention was on him. She had already seen them over and over, no need to do it again.

"What makes you thin..."

She had started to interrupt him when he said she should be able to wake up when she wanted. This shocked her into silence and she shut her mouth.

Setting the imaginary cup down on its saucer, Jairdain wondered just how he expected her to wake up. Closing her eyes and make a choice to end this vision of charades, Jairdain opened them. When she did, her real eyes opened and she was laying on her bed with Krest next to her holding her hand.

Growling at him, Jairdain pulled her hand out from his and gave him a very dirty look.

The sight he had given her in her mind was gone and now she was back to normal for her. It was rather odd to her and a little disorienting. In a way, she probably felt much like when her own mind defenses went off on somebody. Taking a moment to reorient herself, she sat up in bed and looked to where Krest was sitting.

"What do you want to show me?"

Not yet feeling like getting out bed, Jairdain just sat there, waiting on his answer.
