Private His Eyes Are A Blue Million Miles

Sith Academy
New Kaas City, Dromund Kaas

Bad information. That was what had brought Ishani to Kaas City.

After the Sith invaded Ossus, Arcturus Dinn Arcturus Dinn had gone missing. Ishani knew he had been among the troops groundside during the battle, but he hadn’t been reported among the dead. There were witnesses who claimed they had seen him leaving aboard his ship, making his way offworld with a Jedi prisoner in tow. Ossus was a stone’s throw from Korriban, and yet Thesh had never made it back.

Ishani considered him a friend and cared enough about his wellbeing to try and track him down. She wasn’t sure what Thesh thought of her, or if he would do the same if their situations were reversed, but that uncertainty wasn’t enough to stop her.

An anonymous tip had told her he was attending some sort of Sith university. Deciding she would try every major Sith academy listed in the public record, she arrived on Dromund Kaas, capital of the other Sith Empire. The oldest and most established of the three… four? five? that had cropped up in recent years. She didn’t care who was in charge, only whether or not Thesh was there. No sooner had her feet touched down on the planet’s surface, she had her answer.

No. Thesh was not here.

A sense of hopelessness kept her from departing immediately. She wandered the academy grounds, encased in greenhouse glass to protect the students from the hurricanes perpetually raging outside, her feet crossing immaculate lawns and clean white walkways. Her arms were crossed over her chest, her head bowed and her shoulders hunched. She liked rainy days, but this was not a rainy day. This was an eternal storm. The sound of the rain hitting the transparisteel above was loud, and it never seemed to let up.

Next on the list was… she couldn’t remember the name of the school. She had already read through all the academies listed, and none of them had jumped out at her, at least not with that subtle tug of the Force which she associated with the right answer. Instead, it was telling her with its silence that Thesh wasn’t at any of these places, and she was wasting her time and money flying around the galaxy on a wild goose chase.

Lightning flashed bright enough to turn the world around her white for a split second. She jumped, suddenly feeling a stray rock caught beneath her shoe. She kicked it, the sound of stone scraping over duracrete drowned out by a crack of thunder.
