Naboo
Grandmasters Office
Ala Quin Ala Quin

It had been far too long.

Aiden knew that before he ever reached the corridor leading toward Grandmaster Ala Quin's office, and the thought only settled heavier with every step he took. There had been plenty of reasons for the distance, some practical and some far more complicated, but none of them changed the simple truth that he should have come sooner. He should have checked on Ala. He should have checked on Lorn. Whatever disagreements had existed between them, whatever directions their lives had taken, Aiden had never stopped caring about either of them.

Aiden approached Ala's office carrying a small container of freshly baked cookies in one hand and a carefully prepared pot of tea in the other. There was something almost amusing about it when he considered how many of his conversations began with this offering.

There was another reason he had come, though one he could not entirely put into words. The Force had been tugging quietly at the edge of his awareness ever since he made the decision to visit her. There was no vision and no overwhelming warning of danger, but there was enough of a feeling there that Aiden trusted it. Ala needed someone to walk through that door today, and whether she wanted advice, conversation, company, or simply someone willing to sit quietly beside her, Aiden intended to be there.

He stopped outside her office and looked down at what he carried before a small smile crossed his face. He adjusted the container beneath his arm, reached forward, and knocked gently against the door.

"Grandmaster Quin.......Ala?" Aiden called through, warmth carrying naturally in his voice. "It's Aiden, I come bearing tea, cookies, and absolutely no official business whatsoever."

It could be only described as a whirlwind. Datapads strewn across her desk, hair frizz upon frizz, and a certain I-can-do-this-without-a-third-cup-of-caf intensity in her eyes. Grandmaster Ala Quin was having a day. Yes. A day. Not just any day. But A DAY.

"Karkin' puss muchin' nerf herdin'..."

Her face went bright red. Such vulgarity should not be uttered by one with such an esteemed roll. But it all felt too much. Simply. Too much.

She needed fifteen secretaries, two more pots of caf, and a lover to go home too. Instead, she had more complaints about requisition order errors and staffing issues in the cafeteria. Why did the Heart of the Jedi also have to be the Brain of the Jedi? Who's ridiculous idea was that.

She could appoint Sela as official organiser of things. Yes. That could work.

The door chimed.

A man walked stood there. Apparently he had just spoken.

Ala did not jump on him.

Success.

Oh. It was Aiden.

She was already too her feet and stalking over to him, before pausing to look at what he had brought. The container was snatched from his grasp and she took a deep, filling breath of the aroma. "Stars, Aiden. You make the best..." She was already munching on one. "...best...thookies...inf...vah...thorld..."

Her fingers curled around his shirt and she was off again, pulling Aiden along the corridor. She clearly needed him for something, and needed it now.

The answer came painfully slowly, as it took some time to get to training room. When they arrived, she finally let go of him, spun about picked up a staff and threw it at him. She winced, realising he still held the pot in his hands, and hoped he could avoid being burned.

"Fight me. I need to let off some steam."
