Shrugging her shoulders, "Mandalorians raided Kashyyyk while I was an infant. Sith killed my father on Anzat. The Confederacy fell while I was growing my skills under their influence and the Galactic Alliance needed people to fight imperials, Sith and more." There had never been too much questioning of it all from Dreidi's perspective but she lived in one place or another, they needed to fight to protect what they had and that was something that Dreidi was always willing to do. "Being sent off to war and fighting to protect what we had from those eager to ruin our lives... very different viewpoints I believe."

Dreidi smirked as she looked over to Vytal, "I was born on Kashyyyk. Both parents were Jedi Masters in the Silver Jedi Order. When my father died and my mother abandoned her children in her grief, I join the CIS to train under my adoptive sister. That was where I learnt that my father's family came from Dathomir and I have the powers that came from that heritage." Dreidi stated, she held nothing back in her past. It was wrought with being constantly on the move and the difficulties of finding one's place in the galaxy. "I trained under a Nightmother as well as continuing my Jedi studies. Mixing the lessons from both."

"Which made life interesting when I had to find a new life after the fall of the Confederacy. The Galactic Alliance were not thrilled to have a Jedi with the willingness to be a witch, the mindset of a Nightsister. I was an outsider there for a long time. Doing the best I could to fit in, but ultimately it would not work." Dreidi confessed, she was not one to mince words with her dislike of the Alliance and their New Jedi Order. "The High Republic were more open to my presence but Dathomir's call was too strong. While I tried to divide my time equally between Naboo and Dathomir. I ended up mostly on Dathomir."

Gesturing to their surroundings, "therefore, I find myself fighting amongst those who are willing to fight for Dathomir, should the day come that trouble finds us." Looking over to Vytal, "I found the Magick's strength is not based on darkness or lightness like the Jedi and Sith wish to believe. It is emotional, the emotions that burn strongest allow us to perform the strongest Magick. That could be hate, anger, sadness just as easily as it could be love, hope and lust. It can change over time which emotion fuels the Magick best, but it doesn't dictate whether or not we are a good person."

"Our actions dictate that." Taking the glass, she sipped the alcoholic drink carefully. "To the bonds that last this lifetime and the next."

At the ridiculous eyebrow wiggle, Adelle had to stop chewing and brought a fist to her mouth to keep from laughing and spitting food out. Magical hands indeed. But Tess mentioned learning how to hide an entire ship from view without a device. Adelle had never tried a whole ship but she had cloaked multiple people, even hidden their Force presences, before.

“Might be worth a trip then,” she said, chewing on another piece of bread thoughtfully. The little bits of food were starting to whet her appetite and she knew she needed to actually eat if she was going to be of any use tomorrow. “If only to compare notes.”

She flashed a wink at Tess and spooned some medley of vegetables onto her plate. They’d been cooked in some kind of sauce and she could smell the spice on them at a distance: she preferred her vegetables crisp and fresh but vegetables were vegetables.

“So.” Adelle picked up a fork and picked at what she’d just put on her plate. “You must be experienced if you’ve been to places like Dathomir. Well-travelled, certainly. You fly your own ship?”

Tessa chuckled abandoning the bread roll on her plate and wrapping both hands around her mug, her gaze drifting momentarily over the crowded hall as Adelle spooned food onto her plate. She tried to remember the last time she'd been around this many mandalorians. Probably when she was a kid. She'd been avoiding them for so long...

Adelle's questions drew her back the emphasis on experienced drawing a smirk from her. "I do, she's called the Relentless, heavily modified why tee. Old but durable and she's never let me down. Corellian's know how to make a good ship." there was more than pride in Tessa's tone, the Relentless was more than just a ship to her it was her home, and tomorrow she was putting it all at risk.

She pushed it all aside, focusing instead on the woman in front of her. "I've been flying ever since I was a kid."

When Tess mentioned her ship was a YT model, warmth and familiarity and pride wrapped in her voice, Adelle smiled. The smile brightened when the woman said Corellians made good ships.

“Yes, yes we do,” Adelle said. She took a drink before continuing. “I am, however, going to be pedantic for a moment. We don’t just make good ships. We make amazing ones. How many YTs are still out there flying, you think?”

Adelle pulled off another bit of bread from her roll. “But I’ll admit, I’m a little biased,” she said with a wink.

The length of time she’d been flying was, however, more impressive. Adelle’s eyebrows rose appreciatively.

“Color me impressed,” she said. It did speak volumes about Tess though, and perhaps not in the ways the woman might have wanted. Flying since a child meant one of two histories—rich enough the parents could afford it, or flew it out of necessity. Tess’s clothes didn’t look like she’d had rich parents but looks could be deceiving. Adelle idly wondered which it was.

Tessa's smile widened at the pride that swelled in Adelle's voice, correcting her on the quality of ships Corellia produced. "I thought I caught an accent." she mused, cocking her head and squinted slightly like it might help her hear better. "Coronet, right?" she drank, amusement fading from her eyes breifly. She'd seen the news reports, she knew Corellia was burning.

She set the mug back down. "I'm sorry." she said softly "Can't be easy being here, with everything happening there."

It didn't matter that Adelle was a Mandalorian, Corellian's were unapologetically...Corellian. It didn't matter how far they travelled or how long it had been, or what creed they followed now, it was who they were at their core.

For a brief moment, Adelle’s smile brightened.

“Coronet, yeah,” she said. “My parents lived there.”

The smile faded by degrees, turning sad before it disappeared entirely. Images of the Holonews reports burned in her mind’s eye again and she took a slow drink.

“I feel guilty,” Adelle said quietly. “For wanting to be there instead of here. For being here instead of fighting there. They’re burning Kor Vella as an example for a peaceful demonstration. They wouldn’t hesitate to glass Coronet if there’s an actual rebellion.”

Adelle leaned her elbows on the table and put her head in her hands. “Kriff it all, the last memorial I have of my mother’s in Coronet. Couldn’t even get her soul-diamond.”

She pressed the heels of her hands into her eyes, trying to ignore the anxiety turning Kor Vella’s flames into Coronet’s. Coronet wasn’t burning and maybe would never burn under the Imperial regime. Adelle took a breath and grabbed her mug again.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to dump all that on you.”

Tessa didn't interrupt, she'd given Adelle the space my offering condolences and she wasn't about to take that away not only because it was cruel but because it was clear by the way it spilled from her that she needed it. As Adelle pressed the heels of her palms against her eyes, Tess's gaze drifted to beyond the feasting hall where she knew her mother was preparing for the fight in her own way. Before Ijaat had pulled her back, Tessa had had nothing to remember her by, no memorial, no piece of her armour. Ra Vizsla had made sure it was all lost, that no monument stood in her name.

She pushed her own trauma aside, looking back at Adelle as her hands dropped, offering her a small smile and a shake of her head at her apology. "Don't apologise." she told her, before dropping her gaze to her mug. "I've worked with more than a few Corellians over the years, they are the few in my line of work that have any sense of honour or loyalty. If they rebelled," she looked up "I'd be there in a heartbeat to back them up."

Tess lifted her mug, taking a long drink before she set it back down again with a sigh. "Late is better than never. The Diarchy has more bark than it has bite, I'm pretty confident we'll live to see Yaga fall. So go after, no one would fault you for that. Get your mother's memorial."

It was quite the storied path Dreidi had walked.

"Yes," Vytal nodded, "which is why our Sisters do not succumb to 'Corruption' as Sith are known to do. They too use emotion, but become consumed by their hatred or anger. In part, their weakness comes from isolation." Which Nightsisters often did not have a problem with as they came together in Covens or Clans... a Gathering of those they viewed as family to be protected and comforted.

"Whether one's power is 'Dark' or 'Light' does not matter. I would welcome any with the ability to harness it." Even the men, whose acceptance had taken a little adjustment back when she'd first met the Confederacy of Independent Systems; which came on the heels of just having left Dathomir and had less than ideal encounters with people in the galaxy.

"Should you ever find issue or have idea to better the lives of our Sisters, come to me openly." Vytal smirked after she took a drink of the alcohol. "I prefer it to political maneuvering."

A sigh escaped her and Phantom shifted closer to her stomach, her tiny black body rumbling loudly. Tess’s compliments towards the Corellians didn’t go unnoticed but it was her declaration of support for their rebellion that caught her attention. Adelle reached down to stroke her fingers through the fur on Phantom’s spine as she rolled the bread between the fingers of her free hand.

“You’d do that,” she asked slowly, “for a people not your own? Against Imps like that?”

Late is better than never. Adelle tore another piece off the bread roll and chewed it thoughtfully. It was true that galactic governments, and particularly Imperial governments, liked to embed themselves as soon as possible into cities and stay in their holdings like barnacles on seaside rocks. Even if their center of power was destroyed, they’d still need to be rooted out of Corellia and that would take time.

“I might have to cause some trouble there, after all this is over,” Adelle said. Then, with a bit of a dark smile, “And if I’m a ghost, I’ll haunt them all.”

She pulled at the bread a bit more before she spoke again.

“Thank you,” she said quietly. “For listening. Hopefully I’ll see you on the other side tomorrow.”

Adelle glanced over at her empty plate and the roll Tess had been picking at. “You should try to choke down something or you’ll be feeling it tomorrow.”

Tessa straightened at her question, her gaze shifting to scan the room, armour and cloth of every colour, species from across the galaxy united by one creed, one purpose; to answer the call of their Mand'alor. Her gaze lingered on another brawl that was over as quick as it started, each supporting bloodied noses and ridiculous grins as they embraced. Tess shook her head smiling, looking back at Tess.

"I've worked with more Corellian's than I have my own people, fighting with them would be an honour. Killing imps? Now, that's just a juicy bonus." she flashed a grin, before her expression softened into something more serious. "I'm only here today because Aether asked me to come home." She paused inclining her head slightly. "And there's also only so long you can go avoiding a mother like mine. So yeah, I'd do that, without a second thought."

A chuckle passed her lips at the dark humour that slipped through Adelle, lifting her mug in a cheers as she took another drink. "You'll see me." she said with a confidence that was stark contrast to the way her stomach was twisting "I didn't come home to fight alongside mandalorian's for the first time in a decade to die fighting an enemy like the Diarchy."

She looked down at the roll, contemplating it for a moment before her stomach twisted in a way that told her that tempting fate would only end in her embarrassment. "Yeah," she said with a smile. "That's not happening, but I appreciate the concern all the same." She pushed herself to her feet, draining the last of her mug before setting it down on the table. "I've got half a dozen pre-flights checks to run anyway." she moved past Adelle, and hand squeezing her shoulder as she went.

"Ni malyasa'yr ret' nakar'tuur, vod."

Dreidi shrugged her shoulders, "being isolated is not the only issue that our sisters face. There has not been a strong leadership for a long time." Dreidi stated, taking a sip of her drink before she continued, "how long has it been since there has been a charismatic Nightmother or Nightmothers who could rally the clans behind them?" Dreidi posed the question to Vytal.

It was not a calling out to the other witch. "The Jedi have Grandmasters and a council. Sith have empresses and dark councillors. What do the witches have? We have diversity in clans and isolationism." Breathing in deeply, she let out a small sigh, "we have not organised ourselves well enough in a long time to form a strong structure in which we could be considered a strong force. That isn't just because the Mandalorians sweep us into their countless empires, or the fact that others rather see us dead."

"We are a bunch of very opinionated people who can be very stubborn in our ways. Both a boon to our powers but a detriment to the ability to form a structured system where the witches can grow stronger as a group." Dreidi stated, she was not against the idea of something like that happening herself, but it was going to take effort and it was going to take people who could win the hearts and minds of some of the more reluctant voices on Dathomir.

Finishing her drink, "I am always open to helping you out warden. I only desire the best future possibly for my fellow sisters. Ensuring they live their best lives."

Looking over to Vytal, there was a nod of her head, "if you ever need to talk with someone about the plans for the future and how to execute them best, I shall be around. Dathomir is my home and I shall not be going anywhere, anytime soon."
