Try as she might, Elpsis could not fully keep the sadness Coryth felt from bleeding over to her. It was both a gift and a curse that she had inherited her mother's natural empathy. Especially since she had barely been trained in controlling it, which obviously made walking in crowds a big strain on her.
Perhaps this was one of the reasons why she preferred being alone. She felt Coryth's caring, the sadness and the guilt she felt at having made a terrible mistake in giving her up. It was...too much. Breathing heavily she tried to bring up her walls to fortify her mind, erect a solid dam to stem the flood of emotions sweeping towards her but Coryth just happened to be a master empath, whereas Elpsis was a barely trained Padawan who had washed out of training and been kicked off to AgriCorps before going rogue.
In this moment she just wanted out as fast as possible, but fact was she could barely walk on her. So she was dependent upon the little woman to whom she was both drawn to and whose presence made her want to turn the other way. "Yeah, ok, let's go," she grunted rather curtly. Perhaps Coryth would pick up on her difficulties.
