Hey guys first of all i'd like to introduce myself my name is DNT and I'm a huge fan of this website it's really awesome and honestly props to the staff team for putting on such a good show you guys are doing pretty awesome and im pretty sure the owner never thanks you enough from the Admins on down to the codex judges and i tip the hat off to you guys awesome the forum owner looks like he's really hot.

*breathes*

Anyways i was thinking to myself "what if the forum owner was having this argument in a secret codex forum with some RPJs/CJs in an attempt to persuade the Codex/Factory Admins to take a risk and do some chaotic stuff" and I was like oh hey maybe I'll make a suggestion.

so here is my suggestion, please be kind im new

Mystical Lore
> Holocrons, FU Forms/Tactics such as meditation, methodology of performing the arts, religions, basically everything EXCEPT creating new force powers because i still dont think thats a good idea but if tefka was ever assassinated (or died due to poor eating habits) and the admins took over here is where you could cram it both figuratively and literally

Galactic Lore
> events of the galaxy, historical events, focus the templates on being easily read and stored (basically move the wiki stuff here and focus on this forum as that.)

Faction Lore
> Faction Advertising Avenue #3. Allow them to create and store and share with others the innerworkings of their generation of the faction. For example, current Mando Empire is not like last year's Mando Empire. Same with all the Republics, Sith Empires, Galactic Empires, etc. Might be able to sweep this into Galactic Lore, but I wanted another avenue for Factions to advertise.

Jokes on you, Arrow was ruined in Episode One when Oliver Queen ran like an idiot and couldn't act to save his life

I support every and all incarnations of "Lore" sections on the site. I even prepared a brand new Codex Diving suit so I can breathe down there. Because lord knows I'm never coming up for air if this gets put out.

As [member="Darth Carnifex"] [member="Kaine Australis"] says, leave history to the historians.
Fixed that for ya ;)

What's wrong with new Force Powers? Are you for or against progress, DNT? Make up your mind!

If we did it, 98% of the focus would be on creating force powers (just like this discussion is about to be) and the majority of the people who'd be constantly subbing would be doing it to 1) be stupid and 2) feel powerful or 3) be gross.

It's not storytelling. It's min/maxing. It's stupid and ruins the whole concept of lore by taking it from "tell a story" to "what moveset does ur pokemon have".

There is one drawback I do see for staff. They will have to make a comprised list of known force powers from the movies, tv shows, book, and comics. Some of those comics are pretty rare and they might have to rely on the member base that may or may have not read the comics the power was seen in.
It might be a very time consuming ordeal for staff.

Yes there is that option for members just to sub that rare force power and give a link to cannon or EU cannon where there Force Power was first mentioned.

*watches staff hire more codex judges*

While I can see that clearly being the case with some, wouldn't it allow people to document their personalized variations on skills already in existence? And wouldn't new skills be developed overtime from an IC standpoint?

I mean, if a Sith Lord developed a new ability, would they not put it in their holocron? Meaning, wouldn't it makes sense to have a written out deal about it attached to the holocron submittal?

I don't think it's min/maxing unless people make it that. One could argue that a large part if the factory is min/maxing so it isn't really a viable argument to use. After all, neither the codex nor the factory are required elements.

Wait how did i ruin Arrow. >.> what cause i used the hacker girl as my play by and a cosplayer of one of the chars of durarara. tbh its one of my only chars that has a real person play by. you should be proud it ain't an anime girl

Who writes an actual biography anymore?

And if you're going to make that argument, why can't we do the same with equipment?

Most people who wanna rp here.

And nobody’s stopping you from adding made up Force Powers and equipment to your character bio, lol. They dont get approved. And thats the real difference here, isn’t it? The lack of credibility. The forced responsibility that u have to take over what you write rather than “well someone else approved it”.

Don’t struggle with this, it’s not gonna happen, not while a good friend of mine lives. You’ll have to Mufasa him to have a hope of doing it (approving fu powers) and I think he just moved to another hemisphere.
