Here we go.... Again. Seeking mentor/master/group

So.. This is a multi-purpose topic. However, it serves four primary purposes.

The first of which is the mark of my return! Huzzah. This is not the first character I have roleplayed as, and hopefully will not be the last. I am glad to be amoungst the community once more. Hopefully, I can contribute to it and remain an active member.

Which leads to my second point. I work two jobs. During the overnight hours by my time. Though my goal is to return to a stable activity level amoungst this site. To avoid leaving a topic un-responded to. I cannot guarantee such a happening will be unavoidable. Merely that I am going to do my darndest to prevent it. Life happens. Life takes priority. (Much to my sadness)

Thirdly. I am posting this topic. To find a long term mentor/master for this character. As well as a group. I want a mentor/master who is willing and able to. Assist me and communicate with me both in both IC and OOC aspects within the community. Primarily in these areas. Character development.. As well as my overall writing skills. While also communicating to coordinate what is happening in my life, so I can keep them informed when I may be less active. To avoid entering topics during that time period which may have a rapid rate of replying. I would also like a group who can intergrate me into being a useful member, while respecting I have real life obligations.

Fourthly. Here is what is occurring with this character.

My character Seth is currently seeking a mentor/master. Either lightside or darkside. He is currently lost in his ways, and caught in the balance. Considering, he has spent most of his life on the run, and most recently the past three years doing so completely alone.

His prior master was a grey jedi. Who sort of lacked on the teaching department, at least in regards to the ways of the force. Having even disregarded lightsaber training for Seth completely. Seth did however learn some force techniques. Which he picked up oftly quickly. Primarily related to manipulating the environment. Such as force push, pull, and other telekinetic applications.

Seth has a natural affinity for force techniques, has a large force potential... And well. Is a clean slate essentially. Aside, from force potential. Seth's main strengths lie in streetwisdom and survival skills. Stealth, sleight of hand, and agility. As well as he is generally a quick learner, and thinker. His weaknesses are probably his anger, though it is not quick, it hits like a storm. He is not physically strong by any means, and would do best to avoid grappling or getting in a situation he is physically overwhelmed. He refuses to wear armor.. Finding it too restrictive. Very much going with the if you can't be hit, you don't need to worry philosophy. (He may imbue his clothes with the force to act as some level of a defense later) As well as he forms attachments.. Not necessarily quickly, though once he has pledged loyalty to a person or cause.. He pledges that loyalty without a doubt. Even if it is against his well-being in the long run.

He does have one goal however. Which shapes him. He seeks peace and prosperity. He has lived on the streets. Learned the hardships of the lower class and common folk. He wants this to end, and the means of which it is accomplished means less to him then the actual end goal. He expects there to be turmoil, and sacrifices needing to be made. Though it is a price worth paying he feels.

On a note to lightsiders. Though Seth is open to following the jedi path. He does have troubles with anger blinding him. It is not often, though it does go out with a bang.

The master who picks him up. Will need to be willing to learn him, help him play to his strengths. While also widening his skills. (Including teaching him to wield a lightsaber properly) I want Seth to grow both in skill and as a person. Not necessarily be in a stasis all of his career.

Additionally, if whoever takes my character under their wing would be willing.

I would strongly appreciate if OOC they Gradually assist me in improving my writing. Preferably through the private messaging system. This however is not a requirement. I am aware I am not grammatically fluent, and my spelling is sometimes off. However, I get tired when all people do is scold you for such a mishappen instead of taking a little bit of time. To reach out and explain what is wrong, how it should be worded, and how to identify why and when certain words should be used in a certain context. You cannot expect someone to enter a specific stance by merely beating them with a stick whenever they are not in the stance. All that is doing is teaching them something is wrong, not guiding them towards what is proper.

As someone that's also kinda busy with work these days (Yay working retail around holidays!) I can totally respect IRL getting in the way of funsies.

Now, that said, I've...something of an interesting proposition for you. For starters, Voph is a master swordsman, often forsaking the Force to focus exclusively on lightsaber combat. So, good mesh there. Second, he's climbed the ranks all the way to Darth before...ah...unfortunate circumstances occurred, and not once did he actually take an apprentice in all those....what would that have been...20 years all told?

In terms of chaos and his place within it, Voph is TECHNICALLY in a "Pilgrim" stage of his journey, as he's just been thrust into a galaxy he knows very little about, and is discovering that everything that used to be familiar to him is now gone. But, as he settles down, he's going to get involved with either Commenor and her allies, and/or the Azure Imperium crew, but I've always enjoyed letting the dice fall where they may, so if something else comes up, something else comes up.

So, if he sounds like your kinda guy, hit me up and we can talk details.

Plenty of room in the AI. Always happy for new characters and Voph you are so one of us. :p

Voph: Hmm.. It is indeed an interesting proposition. I would certainly be open minded to having Seth encounter him in their nomadic journey's. As well as I could see him taking an apprenticeship under his wing.

If I end up deciding I want my character to expend on force techniques. He can always do what he probably has done. Which would be to self teach. In addition I am sure he could always stumble upon individuals who could assist him in broadening those aspects. He would probably be doing this to an extent of some sort, and I could totally see him trying to implement it into better harnessing the skills your character bestows upon him. He will also need to be guided to forge a lightsaber at some point, when he is deemed ready.

It would definitely be neat to try running a character. Who is being raised up primarily in the art of lightsaber combat.

Lance Claw: If I do indeed apprenticize under Voph, and he does indeed join your cause. I would gurantee my character would be affiliated with the organization. Even if not I will consider having him join.

As well as yes. I am with Voph. It almost became a 'one of us' chant.

Well, Voph isn't lightsaber exclusive, he knows force powers (Particularly Force Sight, Miralukan and all), he just generally doesn't use them. In fact, his son (Who sadly died on SWTOR, and will not be making an appearance on Chaos beyond passing mention) was primarily a Force Caster, and trained under Voph until he was transferred to the tutelage of his mother, so he's able to learn folks a thing or two about Force Powers.

I think probably the one thing that Voph and Seth might differ on is Light vs Dark, and the ideologies therein. As it stands, Voph is basically a lightsider, or trying to be neutral at best as he struggles with a lot of the same stuff that Seth does, but he's a strict follower of the Sith Code, even after he's left the Sith. But, certainly has the potential to make for neat RP at the very least.

Aye, I can totally see ideology being where they mostly clash. However, eventually it would lie more in the personal conflict of my character. Considering once he forges a loyalty it is generally an unyielding loyalty. This would definitely test it to the extremes. As he would be left pondering if his loyalties to his master, means more to him, than his loyalties to his cause.

At best my character would probably yield even if not necessarily fulling embracing what he is yielding to. Luckily that is where the open mindedness is. He may end up accepting the code, and Voph's ideology (giving time), though trying to do so in a means where it still serves what he seeks in the longer scheme of things.

Yuroic is a Grey Jedi Knight within the Silver Jedk Order, their community is welcoming to people with all kinds of OOC background. Several people there have jobs and get bush at times. I can also help with the writing as I do a lot of essay writing in University, so my grammar has to be pretty decent to pass that. Though my corrections will all be for British English, as I live in the UK. I am a fairly decent poster and I believe in developing a character's non-Force skills as well as their Force Powers.

Onto Yuroic, he is a former orphan boy from Nar Shaddaa, he was living in the refugee sector and learn various skills to survive. Minor hacking, dirty fighting, languages and parkor. While training in the Order, Yuroic was most proficient in Lightsaber combat, his decade to his chosen style, Niman, makes him a difficult opponent to beat. His Force Powers are decent for his rank and he has a large variety of powers he could teach Seth. He has also found ways to control his deep-seated anger so that would be another area to help the boy. Yuroic is also an expert archer, average with a gun and a capable pilot.

Within SJO, we hold several events for socialising and there are lessons you can attend taught by others as well as hanging out with fellow Padawans. If this all sounds interesting let me know.
