Inner Rim // Japrael Sector // Japrael System
Onderon // Iziz City // Some Seedy Cantina.
Although the Golden Company had carved out an infamous reputation amongst the stars for being brutally effective shock troops in service to the highest bidder, they were often hired for other assignments; One’s that bore little weight on the galactic stage. It was the city of Iziz that had employed their services this time around. Not to subjugate their neighbouring cities as one would expect of some Inner Rim Monarch, nor did they ask for a local rebellion to be stamped out through whatever means necessary. No, instead, several representatives of the palace had shuffled into a seedy cantina and begged the Sun Guard's, who were just passing through on their way towards the Core Worlds, to hunt a monster. While the request was unusual, and Khonsu had half a mind to refuse them, it was when they laid out their offerings that the deal was struck.

They offered a king’s ransom to any man from their outfit that would take on this arduous task, as the local noble houses had pooled their funds together in order to procure the services of who they deemed to be the best. When such information was brought to light, the Tribune had figured that some of the nobles from every one of those houses had lost someone to this beast. It was a sad occurrence, but such things happened when the creatures in the wild were provoked by those that thought of themselves as the apex predator. In addition to the pile of credits that were promised, these representatives had offered something unheard of on Onderon - especially when one considered the history of the planet and its love for taming beasts in the wild. They offered the Golden Company the carcass of the creature, after it was slain, to take off world and do with as they pleased.

While this would’ve been something trivial to scoff at, as there were numerous creatures on this planet whose hide was utterly worthless, it was when they detailed how massive the beast was - and relayed the last and only word that was transmitted before the channel was severed - that Khonsu’s interest was piqued. Terentatek. From what he could recall, the creature fed off the blood of those afflicted by the curse of force-sensitivity. It was also said that they feasted upon the meat of anything connected to this mystical energy field and that their colossal strength was a perversion of life itself, as it added the power of it’s victim to its own after it’s voracious hunger was sated. That last point the man raised seemed a bit too fanciful to be true, but after having seen the impossible become reality - thanks in part to his contracted service to the First Order - it very well could be.

Nevertheless, when the crone had finished relaying the story of how the local houses banded together to seek vengeance after their men were taken in the middle of the night, Khonsu merely finished his drink and slammed the crystalline glass down. He was done hearing about the reasons why they sought out his Outfit, and why there were others who had been contracted. His blood ached to hunt something more than weakling soldiers in the employ of an uncaring government, and this was the opportunity that he’d been pining after. A chance to fully test his skills in battle against something that was unpredictable, that would react solely on their predatory instincts. It was to be glorious, and the Tribune wanted nothing more than to mount that dastardly creature’s skull above his hearth and revel in the spoils.

Taking up his rifle, and paying his dues to the tender behind the bar, Khonsu and his Cohort spilled out onto the streets of Iziz - taking their first steps in the chase for glory.

Arriving on Onderon, Rex was here for one reason alone. The Terentatek. It was a beast that actively hunted force sensitives. He had heard most were gone from the galaxy, yet this one had some how passed notice. He had heard thru a contact about the creature and he wouldn't be able to take it alone. That is when his contact had told him that the golden guard were on planet and they were looking for the same creature. Perhaps he would be able to take on this beast then. Alone was no good but with a group it would make it much easier.

Stepping off his shuttle, he left his Rakghoul droid Crow behind. He knew this would be dangerous and he had begun to enjoy the droid's company. He didn't want it destroyed for no reason. Wearing his Raven armour with the helmet on and double checking he had all of his usual weapons. He looked around and found himself in the Iziz city spaceport he decided to explore the town until he ran into [member="Khonsu Amon"] and the golden company. It surprisingly didn't take him long as they were wandering out of the first bar he came across. He said "Greeting, I know you are hunting a Terentatek and I want in." Waiting for the man's reply.

Onderon, Iziz City, Backwater Cantina
Lazerus...

It was like a cold winter chill swept through the streets.

A darkness glided in on the shadowy wings of an omnicron shuttle, ignored by port authority and given a hidden location to dock and let loose upon Iziz City the pale horseman. Everything about the man was average from the man's slicked back hair, his height, even the suit that marked him like one of the countless other business drones moving through the busy streets. The only things that stood out were the elegant ring on one of his hands and the cane he so casually walked with.

The man's darkness and force presence were contained within a taozin amulet hidden within the folds of his clothing.

A wolf in sheeps clothing he had a presence about him that could silence a crowded tavern during happy hour. There was something about him that made even the hardest of soldiers uncomfortable and uneasy when he entered the area. The presence was most felt in the comrades of [member="Khonsu Amon"] as the man seemed to show up suddenly, only the sound of his cane tapping on the earth to speak to his arrival.

"You're a hard man to find Khonsu Amon." The man said casually approaching. He didn't look like much from his outward appearance, but something felt off.

"You are hunting a dangerous prey Amon. I'm here to...tag along."

When the doors to the cantina had parted, allowing the blazing radiance from Onderon’s star to spill inside, Khonsu had found himself standing before an armoured stranger. While his first instinct was to stand aside, to allow the man the space he needed to make his entry, the Mercenary elected to hold his ground instead. With his armoured boots firmly planted atop the coated duracrete slab, the Thyrsian slowly and unconsciously went for his sidearm. He didn’t know this man, and the figure had made his approach cloaked in combat gear and bearing quite the armoury on his back. His first thought was that someone in the Galactic Alliance had grown tired of his Outfit roaming freely through their space, and had hired someone to take him out. However, as the man made no move to reach for his weapons and instead continued to make his approach, the danger to his person was admittedly minimal. So, when the man had stopped and presented himself to the gathered Cohort of Sun Guards, his gauntleted hands shifted away from his weapon and began to curl into a fist.

The man neglected to introduce himself but instead demanded that he join their party - to enlist in the hunt for the beast that stalked the wilds of Iziz City at night. While others wouldn’t have questioned such a… unorthodox method of induction, Khonsu’s darkened brow raised itself in curiosity. Not only had they just accepted the job a short time ago, but it seemed that word had travelled a bit too fast for his liking - which set the Thyrsian on edge as his mind rounded back to his earlier assumption. “It seems word travels very fast in this city,” The Mercenary said with a thin-lipped smile. “I’ll tell you what; take your helmet off and properly introduce yourself, and my comrades and I will consider letting you tag along. If you don’t,” the Sun Guard patted his sidearm and allowed his smile to stretch ever wider.

“We’ll riddle your fancy armour, and leave you to bathe in the streets covered in acid.”

Before the man had a chance to reply, to make the choice that would determine if he lived or died, yet another mysterious stranger had suddenly joined the fray. This time, this figure had seemingly appeared from nowhere with only the haunting sound of his cane to announce his arrival. Several of the Sun Guards, who had kept their eyes on the armoured figure before them, allowed their attention to drift towards the echo - only to be gifted with the lingering sensations of apprehension and discomfort. Something was definitely off about this gaunt figure, although, they couldn’t say what it was. It left them tense and on edge, especially with how casually he had made his approach. So many questions festered in their minds, and so many more had taken their place as he parted his thinned lips to speak. As the first words slithered forth from his tightly wound maw, Khonsu felt a chill run down the length of his spine. Not only had his man known his name, but he had been looking for him too.

Tearing his gaze off the androgynous figure, the Mercenary turned his eyes towards the newcomer and found himself afflicted by the very same perceptions that gripped the hearts of his men. Unlike them, however, the Sun Guard made no move to reach for his weapons, nor did he falter in surprise. He remained where he stood, whilst the others took a step back - a futile attempt to escape this man’s disturbing aura. After having mentioned that he was looking for the Thyrsian, this mysterious stranger had revealed his purpose and like the armoured figure; sought to tag along for the adventure. Swallowing his apprehension, the Desert-born lifted a finger and pointed towards the armoured figure. His unhelmed expression hardened, as the Thyrsian fought against the body that sought to betray him. The smile that had adorned his lips soured, leaving his patrician features expressionless and devoid of the amusement that he presented mere moments ago.

“I’ll give you the same choice I gave this man, Introduce yourself or I’ll leave you as a sizzling corpse in the streets.”

"My sincerest apologies good sir" He says to [member="Khonsu Amon"] as he takes off his helmet. "My name is Rex Taff and I am here to hunt the Terentatek which I understand you are hunting yourself." He shows he is a chiss man and then pulls out some ID "If you wish to learn more simply look at the ID."

Turning to see the other man he had addressed, "I would like to know as well who you are?" Then waiting for the two to converse and make a decision on what they would do.
[member="House Zambrano"]

As the other men alongside [member="Khonsu Amon"] stepped away in an attempt to get away from his disturbing aura, the figure didn't so much as flinch when barrels were raised towards him.

Did he have a death wish? The figure moved as if the barrels didn't even exist stepping forward the closer he stepped the stronger the disturbing, fear inducing aura was felt. If anything he seemed more annoyed at the presence of the barrels if the look on the man's pale face could be called that. He took two steps forward and spoke his words like honeyed poison "More threats. Let's have a cordial discussion shall we? Now put those weapons away. Now." The man stressed the last portion staring at the guards who carried weapons. To them his commanding word appeared to be practically paralyzing as they immediately complied and fully slid weapons away back into holsters or slung them over shoulders and took a few more steps back.

The figure bowed his head acknowledging the other man in [member="Rex Taff"] but paid him no mind as his attention was directed back towards Khonsu allowing his full piercing gaze to fall on the man. Unbeknownst to the man who was uninitiated into the force the hard gaze did in fact pierce through the man's mind, skimming through his thoughts like a viewer fast forwarding through a holovid and watching the parts they wanted to watch. "You may call me Daēva. Now we should get moving Tribune we have ground to cover, and much to discuss." The man's words were eerily foreboding. He never revealed much and his introduction left him just as vague as when he arrived. But something pushed down on the internal cranium of the Tribune just as he might grow frustrated from the lack of utter compliance, it was a light push on the fringes of his mind that seemed to speak through the man's conscience. Let it go.

Still the figure unbeknownst to them all pilfered through the man's mind searching, watching. Tendrils dug deep as if he was looking for something, like the careful gloves of a surgeon.

It was an imperceptible gesture, one that went unseen as the man removed his helmet, but Khonsu’s eyes rolled sharply into the back of his head. A part of him believed that the man was being smart with him, which, if that were true - would have earned the man a black eye before he was able to de-crown himself. However, as they were in a civilized location with the authorities hanging nearby, the Thyrsian didn’t feel like spending the night behind bars and being charged with assault. So, the man bit his tongue and watched with an unamused gaze as the man introduced himself and brought up an IdentCard showing his recognizable features and some small details about his heritage. He wasn’t a citizen of Onderon, that was for sure, but the other details seemed to be new to the Mercenary - something he’d store for later should they ever meet again. Who knows if such information would prove useful, especially if he was hired to hunt this man down for whatever reason.

As the man’s attention drifted, so too did Khonsu’s - finding it falling back onto the spindly figure that made his skin crawl just looking at him. By his lack of concern, regarding the various heavy rifles that were pointed his way, it was clear that there was more to this man than meets the eye. While the Mercenary couldn’t put his finger on it… the man knew for certain that it had nothing to do with his physical prowess. As the man had taken two steps forward and spoke his words of power, the Thyrsian Tribune watched as his men complied with the stranger’s words - confirming his earlier suspicions. This mysterious stranger was proficient in the aetheric arts, and so much so, that he didn’t need anything other than his voice to enthrall others to his bidding. That was… worrisome to say the least. So much so that he wished that his taloned fingers were wrapped around a weapon, just in case this nameless figure sought to turn him into a golden-clad marionette.

Nevertheless, when the figure had stepped forward and made his introduction, along with the cryptic statement that there was much to discuss, Khonsu couldn’t help but feel that the man was gazing into the depths of his soul. When the unseen connection was broken, the Mercenary felt marginally more at ease with the situation he had found himself in. One could say that he had let go of his apprehension and began focusing more on the task at hand. There was a beast that awaited them in the wilds of Onderon, and it would do their pocketbooks any good if they stood around some worthless watering hole demanding answers to seemingly pointless questions. “Right,” the Thyrsian said, his voice tainted by the lingering traces of distraction. “From the information I was given, the Terentatek had scaled the walls in the middle of the night, and took a few of the patrolling Paladins from the parapets. The reports indicated that the beast had stolen away into the forest once reinforcements and the morning’s light came over the walls.”

Taking the initiative and ordering his men to follow after, Khonsu started walking towards the nearest gate that would provide them entry to the outside world. He didn’t look over his shoulder as his golden boots carried him closer to the towering gate, trusting that his newfound companions would join him. “While it’s not much for us to go off of, I doubt that the creature was intelligent enough to cover its tracks during the escape into the thicket. There’s probably quite the mess for us to follow, so keep an eye out for anything out of the ordinary.”

Rex could feel something off about the man ( [member="House Zambrano"]). He thought about it for a few minutes then said "Actually I shall leave you to hunt the beast, I am needed else where." He looks disappointed about having to leave. "My apologies to both of you and I wish you the best of luck in your hunt." Rex turns calling his droid with him and heads back to the spaceport. "Perhaps I am not ready to fight a Terentatek." He says to himself before leaving the planet. Exiting the orbit he does even give a second thought as he punches in co-ordinates for another area of the galaxy.
[member="Khonsu Amon"]
(OOC: Sorry really not feeling the muse anymore for a hunt.)

They were all too easy for him to push, their minds simple enough for him to dig into and take whatever he wanted out of them.

But when it came to [member="Khonsu Amon"] there was potential there, untapped buried deep beneath the surface where it could barely be seen. There were certain ingredients mixing around in the man's mind that could create a deadly mixture for the recipe they were concocting they only needed the right timber and the spark to set it all aflame. But there was much more to see, more to dig through in the winding halls of the man's mind and more to test while they were on their little journey to find one of the most prolific killing machines ever created through the force.

Terentateks.

It would be the perfect test subject to pit the Tribune up against. They were intelligent hunters with deadly weapons at their disposal that made them an extreme challenge even against mercenaries. While his own aura through the force was concealed he could still feel the Terentatek out there, its own unique signature of dark side energy like a beating heart reverbating through every track it made, he didn't even need the Golden Company to find the great beast.

But he would test them all against it. He would dull their senses, weaken their resolve and run them right into a vicious attack by the beast. He would see how they did and if Khonsu survived? Well it was a good sign of among other things his adaptability, how he handled under pressure and staring death in the face, stress was a great way to reveal cracks in the foundation. In this case especially it would be a slaughter for the Golden Company before they managed to bring the beast down. Not that he cared about the casualties or loss of life, they were tools to further his master's plans and push Khonsu along the right direction.

"Terentateks prefer concealed, shadowy locations like the environment a cave provides. Look toward these locations and you'll be a step ahead at finding your quarry." He was quite familiar with the beast they were hunting, his master had an entire pack of them locked away in his secure strongholds for study and experimentation, bought at great cost from the Blackthorne Beastiary through extensive third parties. So his words were perhaps the only genuine and revealing thing he said so far. But as revealing as it was too was it cryptic it spoke volumes about what he didn't say.

Once they began walking along he stood alongside Khonsu the tap of his cane continuing as they walked. "Your superiors must have a lot of confidence in you to send such a small force to deal with a Terentatek. How much are you getting for this contract specifically may I ask, Khonsu?" As Lazerus spoke his voice continued to roll off like honey, a silver tongue spitting poison into the ears of the Tribune. What was a cutting question from someone who said nothing was extremely convincing, but also spoke volumes about the sheer power of the beast they faced to the man without the cane and suit clad stranger saying another word.

What came as a surprise to the party of would-be adventurers, was the sudden reversal of determination from their newfound Chiss companion. As they had reached the edge of the city and were just about to venture through the opening gates - he announced that he was needed elsewhere and apologized profusely. Had he left it there, Khonsu would’ve paid him little mind, as Mercenaries were always in demand. However, the man had made mention of not being ready to track their prey in the wilds of Onderon, let alone confront it when the time came. In the Thyrsian’s eyes, was edging on the verge of becoming cowardice, which was more than enough to consider tracking the man down and put a slug in his back. While it would be an entertaining thought to bring into reality, following through with it wasn’t worth it in the end. Not only would killing the Chiss in the streets force the Palace to renege on their contract, but he wasn’t apart of the brotherhood - thus not bound to the tenets of their blood oath.

So, with a hiss of irritation slipping through his thinned lips, the Tribune returned his gaze towards his companions. With nothing but a tilting gesture, they departed towards the outskirts of the city and made their way towards the forest’s edge. Along the way, Khonsu listened to the words of Daēva as they spilled from his gaunt lips, which had left an impression with the mercenary that implied he knew more about these creatures than he had led on. The man knew about their preferences in dwellings and gave them voice with an almost intimate familiarity. Could it be that he had hunted these creatures before, or, as he seemed to be lacking the physical prowess one needed to hunt - that he paid others to do it? He wasn’t sure, nor would it be wise of him to pursue that train of thought, as his imagination would undoubtedly spiral out of control and lead them towards the most peculiar of destinations.

Thankfully, the gaunt figure managed to change the subject and forcibly revert his train of thought. In addition to asking about the contract, and how much his Cohort was being paid for hunting this Terentatek, Daēva spoke of his superiors and their confidence in him. While it would’ve been easy to lie to this man, to tell him that his superiors were grooming him for command over more than just a singular legion of Sun Guards, Khonsu had a feeling that he would’ve been able to see right through it. After taking a moment to weigh his options, the Thyrsian decided that the truth would be more fitting instead. “My superiors only know that I’ve taken roost on Onderon, taking some time for a little rest and relaxation. They don’t know that I’ve decided to take a contract with the locals as if they did - it’s more than likely that they’ll want a cut of my profits.”

Khonsu placed a taloned hand on the bark of a nearby tree and allowed his eyes to traverse its surface. Higher up from where he stood, there were claw markings that didn’t mesh with the noted and known local wildlife. Clearly, those were the marks of their quarry, and everyone within the party knew it. “I’ve also been paid a few thousand credits up front, and promised more once the beast’s been slain. The same deal’s been given to my Cohort as well, since we’re all out in the wilds and will need some… relief once we get back into the city.” That comment had gotten a few of the men excited, and some had even chuckled as their minds began drifting towards their expected form of consolation. The Tribune felt his lips peel into a smile as his mind began to follow suit, however, that sensation quickly soured as his eyes locked with their gaunt companion.

Without delving into what that sensation soured into, suffice to say it was the furthest thing from pleasant. So, to cover up the revulsion that began to spill through his veins, Khonsu quickly crowned himself with his winged helmet and locked the atmospheric seals in place. Now that his vision of the great thicket before him was replaced by a digital imitation painted across a sheet of impregnated glasteel, the Tribune began gripping his weapon tighter. The time of the hunt was upon them, and he could feel the subtle thrill of it purging his system of everything that came before. “We’ll spread out and advance into the forest. Stick within visual range, and once we locate anything out of the ordinary, converge on that location. Don’t go into any caves without support.”

Wordlessly, Khonsu ordered them forth with a forceful chop of his knife-hand.

“Earlier,” The Thyrsian began, allowing his men to carry out his command. “Daēva, you mentioned some our quarry’s preferences. Is there anything more you might know and would care to share?”

It was always hard to tell exactly what Lazerus was thinking at any given moment.

Unlike most people there was nothing about him that gave anything away, from the utter lack of reaction on his face to the neutral way he walked. For all that felt wrong about him nothing was given away no matter how much one scrutinized him. He silently listened to [member="Khonsu Amon"] as they walked. The truth spilled forth and it spoke volumes to the relationship he had with his own superiors among the Sun Guard. There was dissent, a dormant root of animosity evident in both word and memory. He felt like he was destined for something more yet clearly his superiors thought otherwise. Even without their influence the man already began to act out, taking jobs on his own and deceiving command to keep them out of the loop.

Interesting.

"A smart move. Greed often overrides common sense and basic intuition in lesser men" Lazerus said to him. The man picked up on his kernel of knowledge showing genuine curiosity about the beast they faced and just how much Lazerus knew. There wasn't much he didn't know about Terentateks they had done extensive studies on every aspect of the beasts from daily life patterns to the strength of their hide, nothing was left out. These were apex predators in the wild especially when it came to force users, they could be used to his master's advantage. But he wouldn't tell his new friend everything about the beasts, it would make the hunt too easy and he wanted a challenge. It was important to see how he reacted under pressure, what kind of leader he was when his men were walked right into an ambush with very little knowledge of the monster at their disposal.

This was an assessment.

But the Dark Lord he served had great plans for him and he would accomplish much in the future, it was imperative that Khonsu not die needlessly if it could be helped. They wouldn't know of the powerful claws and tusks that were highly venomous. Even after the beast was killed it was possible those who were so much as scratched could die from it. "Don't let it cut you."

From his position several clicks out, Wrynn steadied himself between two barren branches and glanced down the sight of his rifle. He skimmed the horizon, forested and incongruous for as far as the scope and his ocular implant could observe. The only signs of life were the indigenous Pikobi, stirred up by some unseen threat and running amok.

The Mercenary listened idly to the chatter that blared across his comm, one finger caressing the trigger guard of his weapon idly. Information about the beast they were hunting was invaluable, as far as assets went; but Wrynn found it no less distracting that they were failing to keep the airwaves clear. Old habits die hard.

"I'm seeing some unusual activity east Northeast of your position, Tribune," he called out. As Scout, spotting was one of his primary directives. He had always been good at it. "Local wildlife looks to be up in arms about something. No confirmation on the cause, yet."

His customized HUD highlighted each of the smaller reptavian creatures and nearly compiled their biorhythm for him. He ran a cross reference with the HoloNet database for wildlife and confirmed a heightened fear response. That was good enough for him. "They're definitely scared of something."

Wrynn lowered his weapon and glanced back across the distance between himself and the rest of the group. There was a margin for error wide enough that he got a nagging feeling in the back of his mind. When it came to Apex predators, if you didn't play it safe, you were dead.

So, he remained far above ground level. The bird's eye view was perfect until he could regroup and switch back to his blaster rifle. Fighting with a team dramatically increased his chances of survival, far beyond the "one shot, one kill" mantra of the Sniper.

"I'm getting some abnormal readings. Slight tectonic anomaly. Could be tremors, though."

Daēva’s words like a poisoned balm for the Sun Guard’s mind, as that slowly ate away at his thoughts with every step they took into the forest’s embrace. Trust between the two figures was minimal at best, and it didn’t surprise the Mercenary that the gaunt figure’s response mirrored their relationship. It was painfully clear that this man had known more than he was letting on, but dared not to reveal his closely guarded secrets. Did the man believe that in keeping the full breadth of his enigmatic understanding, he would garner a greater share of the spoils? Khonsu wasn’t sure, as the man’s every gesture was calm and meticulously calculated. Where others would have revealed their secrets by minute facial tics, or mannerisms, it seemed that Daēva’s gaunt countenance was akin to that of polished stone. It was like speaking with an unsettling cadaver who told no tales, beyond what you had already known, but always left you wondering if there was more just beneath the surface.

Khonsu showed little of the turmoil afflicting his mind, instead, he allowed his every movement to carry them further and further into the thicket. Instead, the man had elected to scour their surroundings in search of any detritus that would light their path towards the dwelling of their contracted prey. It was the Thyrsian Tribune’s hope that they would chance upon the creature after it had gorged itself upon the latest victims and decided to hibernate until the appointed hour had come to pass. If such an eventuality had presented itself, the Sun Guard would relish the moment and press how their newfound advantage. The creature would be groggy, as the tendrils of a deep slumber clouded it’s mind and would allow the band of Sellswords to strike first. With the first shots made, either with the collective use of their gauss rifles, or their acidic sidearms, the beast would be weakened considerably.

Which, in turn, would allow Khonsu to move in for the kill.

However, as their newest member of the Cohort had reported that his sensor had picked up unusual activity to the east, the Thyrsian Tribune cleared his mind of all thoughts of an unchallenging kill. The man that had joined their Hunt as a scout was skilled in discerning the truth behind what was laid bare for all to see, and that was one of the many reasons why he had been chosen to join the Sun Guards on their hunt. Normally, to do such a thing, the man would’ve had to have been apart of the brotherhood, and had undergone the rigorous trials of initiation. Yet, there were times that such a bounty could be shared with those, not of the Golden Company. This was but one of the few occurrences that would happen beneath the preordained Autarch’s gaze. Following hot on the heels of the relayed disturbances, came the Scout’s account of the abnormal tectonic movement, possible planetary tremors.

From the data he was given at the commencement of their forest-bound quest, Khonsu wasn’t made aware of any expected quakes, let alone of any creature aside from their prey that could cause such earthly disruption. “Be on your guard,” the Tribune whispered across their connected network, allowing for the ever-present static to engulf the silence that followed his transmission. Green acknowledgement runes blinked to life on the crystalline display affixed before his darkened eyes, informing the unit’s commander that his subordinates had heeded his authority. They slowly began to move closer together, tightening up their search patterns and the proverbial grid that was established. When the Thyrsian’s commands were carried out; the tremor that Wrynn had detected began to move - etching itself closer to their position with every rising heartbeat. It would be on them in seconds, leaving little time for the assembled Sun Guard to react. Their hearts began beating ever faster, pumping their minds and bodies with natural adrenals - however - they were made partially sluggish by the unseen interference of their newfound companion.

When the tremors had stopped, and a bestial roar had taken its place in a shower of splintered wood, Khonsu barely had time to cry out in surprise before the shooting began.

The Terentatek was the perfect predator stalking through the lush nature around them tremors radiating toward them set them off guard, they hadn't expected that. But the beast had some help in its approach from the clever machinations of the mysterious man that accompanied the group. Lazerus had been tracking the beast through its presence and knew their hunting patterns well. He used his unique set of abilities to quietly dull the senses and let the great beast make its approach. Just as the ambush struck one moment the cane carrying man was there...

Then he was gone.

In the blink of an eye the force flushed his already enhanced speed he became nothing but blur that darted away just as the shooting began and the beast attacked its poisonous claws rending flesh and bone, tearing through armor like tissue paper. They weren't the true enemy the beast was after with exception to [member="Khonsu Amon"], but they were there and it wouldn't discriminate when dinner came right to its door.

So Lazerus silently observed the shadows of the dense forest warped all around them, concealing his form as he darted from shadow to shadow, keeping the Twisuns Legate in his vision, he cleverly used subtle bursts of energy to drive the beast towards the commander. There were strict requirements that the Lord of Lies was looking for and in Sith they had to be more then the power at their disposal, a Sith stripped of the force should still be a deadly and versatile opponent. So the ghastly lieutenant set things in motion and watched them eagerly from the shadows.

Let the games begin.
