PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Having spent long hours hunting in dense jungles, open plains and vast deserts, Henri's pale skin can be a little sunburnt, protecting his head and blonde hair with a handy cap that keeps his face in the shade, which makes his emerald green eyes all the prominent. He doesn't have any physically unique traits, just a standard healthy human.
INVENTORY
- Sporting Blaster Rifle While clearly customized, Henri's rifle is still a sporting blaster, it is no more or less lethal than a standard one.
- Blaster Pistol Only ever-so-slightly more lethal, the non-descript generic blaster pistol he keeps holstered is closest thing to a self defense weapon.
- Electrobinoculars One of the more expensive pieces of equipment, Henri relies on these for hunting and spotting.
- Typically will bring along a wide variety of civilian hunting gear and maintenance equipment, depending on what is brought and where he is and if he had time to prepare. While mundane, it does help him outlast in situations far from civilization or (in the case of repair equipment) in deep space.
- Canteen of alcohol, typically of Fiora Vinters whiskey
XS Stock Light Freighter
PERSONALITY AND BELIEFS
Not particularly religious and not having any loyalty to any organization, culture, planet, politics, philosophy and corporation. He has little experience with keeping in civilized territory. This can make him seem naïve, incompetent or outright stupid when on more populated planets, having to rely on constant questioning, maps, and signs just to get around.
When it comes to living long term in the middle of nowhere, fleeing from danger or avoiding hazardous situations is where his personality shines, quickly helping others survive- assuming they aren't a threat to him. He'll even cooperate, work hard, listen, but also obediently follow orders when around those with authority and knowledge on whatever is happening.
He doesn't like anyone who poses a direct threat however and, despite his quick thinking and ease of escaping danger, he is not entirely brave in the face of it. Fear, cowardice, and quick to flee accurately describe him as well. If a direct threat is poised, Henri will never be around for long.
STRENGTHS
- Fit: It'll take more than being sick and a few punches to him down for good.
- Silent: Quiet, to the point of absurdity, will seldom make a sound when walking delicately.
- Sharpshooter: An exceptionally talented shot, capable nailing a target in the same place twice without flaw.
- Survivalist Smarts: Henri doesn't just not die when in the wilderness and/or left on his own, but will actually begin to thrive.
- Coward: Will never stand against a peer-to-peer opponent, he'll flee the moment something goes directly at him.
- Simple Minded: Smart doesn't mean wise or thoughtful, Henri can easily be tricked by force powers, or lured into a false sense of security.
- Just Human: With nothing extra to him, Henri can easily get hurt or die and needs to stay in places with oxygen. Death is everywhere these days...
- Force Vulnerable: Doesn't understand or care to, he is especially vulnerable to the force, magic and otherworldly things.
HISTORY
Keeping up with wealthy parents, aspiring to become a renowned hunter, desperately ignoring everything going on in the galaxy with a drink...
Henri Van Baker was born to fortunate parents who- despite all the happenings in recent galactic history -weren't affected by all the chaos. Wealthy politicians and land owners, they had a sizable family of incredibly accomplished children, Henri being one of the lesser known and well-liked among them for his cynicism, misanthropic attitude and general disdain for social events. At least, during his teenage years.
As he entered early adulthood, Henri was given a generous amount of money by his parents to do as he wished- which was leave. He bought his own starship and seldom contacted them for a little over a decade, transporting goods for the various factions at war. He also grew into his hunting addiction at this time, surviving with fellow transport pilots on unknown planets or moons, hiding out in wild space when the wars got too intense and learning to trust the wilderness and become inexperienced and paranoid of civilization.
In recent years, Henri has decided to come back in contact with his family, but nonetheless stick to his lonely lifestyle. Just another irrelevant hunter in the galaxy.
