- High Power: Contains enough power to easily punch though personal armor and put a strain on even the most advanced personal shields. In addition with enough concentration or light armor it can take down smaller vehicles with relative ease, providing lite AT.
- Kick Back: The large power does come with large kick back, though usually mounted on vehicles and stationary turrets if not properly secured is very hard to aim. Anyone attempting to use this without a tripod or mount may wind up breaking a bone, unless cybernetic enhanced.
- Heavy Weight: Similar to the MG Fedica this gun requires a two man team at a minimum to properly be set up, fed with ammo and reloaded along with carrying from location to location.
The HBMG (Heavy Boltfire Machine Gun) is a large machine sluggun like weapon that uses the Bolt rounds similar to pistols already in production and intended for use on vehicles and stationary defenses with a belt fed ammunition. To increase the power of the weapon a it also uses a small rail system to propel the slug forward like most slug throwers.
This helps lessen some kick back (though still being quite large) and chance of explosion as well as maintaining a decent rate of fire that other heavy weapons are not capable of. In a sense the HBMG is to act as a heavy blaster cannon though deliver a more devastating blow to the enemy providing a goo addition to any infantry force or even basic vehicles.
The need for this weapon was a more quality over quantity sort of argument, the Tythish military not being a huge fighting force and in Chikako's mind needing a substantial amount of fire power in small packages. Such being one of the reasons for the Bolt round development in the first place.
