LIGHT TRANSPORT

Its atmospheric speed is considerably higher than most space-capable vessels, as it prioritizes aerodynamics. Without deflector shields, it can reach 1,600kph; as such, it is a true-supersonic craft.
The pilot is encased in a sphere of turadium, an armor superior to durasteel, and commonly used in high-security blast doors and critical structural components. Turadium is somewhat lightsabre-resistant, and the entire cockpit sphere is highly durable, able to break away from the ship as an escape pod with its own small ion engine and repulsor/reentry capability.
