Private Have You Tried Turning it Off and Back On?

Location: Jakku
Objective: Get ship fixed

“What do you mean broken? What specifically is broken?”

The little droid beeped at her and Holly rolled her eyes.

“Thank you for those gripping details!”

She walked down the ramp of the small vessel and noticed immediately how hot this planet was. Hopefully she could find someone to fix the ship because the droid was no help at all!

Music was being played through the light freighter as the sweltering heat beats on the planet. The constant hiss of condensed, controlled flame from a repair torch could be heard as sparks flew from the ship’s belly. A young man with short blonde hair with a flannel shirt tied at his waist to reveal the thin linen shirt and linen pants could be seen with the torch on hand. The music was pretty upbeat, and kinda loud too. But in truth Zane was not worried about anyone being out here since people rarely ever landed here to begin with. Given how inhospitable the place really was Zane would honestly be surprised if someone ventured so far away from their communities.

Then again, Zane happens to be right next to a community full of scavengers and a ship graveyard with the purpose of finding enough scrap parts to do some minor repairs to his ship. Not really the kind of blaster damage, but rather some mynooks had attempted to rip Zane’s ship apart in order to get inside due to the really bad sandstorm. Prowling around the vicinity of the Spirit was a particular wolf-like droid that remained ever watchful over the area. Its mechanical paws lightly sunk into the scorching hot sand as it paced around the ship. Frankly it was the droid’s appearance that deterred many would-be thieves from trying their hand at stealing from his ship.

Sparks continued to fly past around his head as Zane’s eyes squinted under the protective clear glasses until he finished sealing off some of the exposed hull. The young man lets out a sigh as he turns off the torch and steps away from belly. The droid looked over to Zane before it drew closer to him. The mechanic brushed some of the layers of sand on the wolf’s plating before muttering.

”We need to get you an oil bath soon. All of this sand is starting to get everywhere on us.” Little did he know however that his skillset as a mechanic would be later required. Not just from the community that he took refuge with, but from other sources as well. It was almost like he was getting his old life back to the way it was.
