Have you permanently discarded a main character before?

Have you ever permanently discarded a main character before?

For those unfamiliar with the term:

Main character = a character that a Writer spends the most time with - usually the character one uses the most in OOC conversations as well.

I also say permanently discarded because sometimes a character may be retired with no intention to return to him/her yet not killed.

My first ever character, Phantom, was discarded after weeks of deliberating.

He was a great character, but just didn't seem to fit in the SW universe as a NFU.

He still haunts me to this day and I hope to bring him back, I just can't see when... *sniffle*

Seriously? Oh - thank you! I think if I brought him back (I've grown a great deal in RP understanding since March) I'd make him a Dark Jedi, I think he could do more with the Force and a traumatic background and his masked face.

[member="Asterion"], Yes I did. lol it was a really good concept considering it was slightly a crossover. (Really just the idea that you used Phantom's name as well as his face from Gerald Butler)

The big one that comes to mind was in a different community that I played almost daily for about 3 months maybe 4. He was part of a faction that imploded and after trying to keep the concept alive without a muse for another few weeks I had to give him up.

Admittedly in chaos I am finding it hard to really anchor a character to the point of being able to call one of them a main character.

My first RP character is now abandoned. She was too cliche, I think. Or I was (am) a bad writer. Or both.

This character has been in development for more years/decades than I care to count. There were many times where I considered killing him off or retiring him because he was too good at what he did. There wasn't anywhere to go with him. Fortunately, I've found ways to develop him further.

My first Battletech character (who was arguably my first true RP character ever) was killed off, but not by my will. Stupid lucky roll of dice.

Vulps never truly dies. He just evolves as the years go by. I'm hoping to keep him like that for at least a little while longer... though I did discard his first incarnation entirely. Not sure if they counts but I was almost brought to tears when my first ever rp character made way for a pup to take his place.

Velok was my main for a couple years; he's permadead. The person claiming to be Velok right now is an Apprentice with a chunk of his memories and personality.

Je'gan Olra'en/Darth Shule was my main on TGC and SWFans for close to a decade. Permadead.

Rach/Rasho was my main for a bit, a couple times. Permadead.

Boolon...let's call him strong second tier. Main enough to get Master-nominated three times, let's put it that way. Permadead.
