Student of Kor'ethyr Academy

Haro-Profile.png

NAME: Haro Aven

FACTION: Sith Order

RANK: First Year Student of Kor'ethyr Academy

SPECIES: Human / Kage

AGE: 16-17

SEX: Male

HEIGHT: 5'8" and growing

WEIGHT: 130 lbs and growing

EYES: Bright light green, like peridot gemstones

HAIR: Charcoal gray / black

SKIN: Very pale

FORCE SENSITIVE: No… At least, he doesn’t think so?

APPEARANCE:
Haro has always been a good-looking kid. Even puberty seems to be treating him rather well thanks to his Kage genetics. He could almost pass for human but his unusually pale complexion betrays his subterranean ancestry. His striking bright green eyes are also far from human in the way they shimmer like peridot gemstones, reflecting his bright energy and enthusiasm. They radiate an infectious sense of curiosity, hinting at the mischievous nature that lies beneath his seemingly innocent exterior. The contrast of his dark coal-grey hair and strong brow could look a bit stern if it wasn't for his edgy undercut and the unruly style reflecting his youthful charm and rebellious spirit.

Standing at a height that’s slightly above average for his age, Haro possesses a lean and agile build, a testament to his active nature and the demands of his mechanical work. He most often looks the part of a scrappy shipyard mechanic wearing practical clothing to suit his day-to-day activities in the workshop. Utility belts adorned with various tools are a common sight, reflecting his commitment to his apprenticeship and his role as the best mechanic's apprentice around.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Photographic Memory [Strength | Racial]
Haro inherited the Kage's innate capacity for longevity of memory and the ability to recall a past scene in detail with great accuracy. Just as a photograph freezes a moment in time, Haro can take mental snapshots and then recall these snapshots without error. It is also common among Kage for memories to begin forming as early as birth.

Lightning Fast Reflexes [Strength | Racial]
The Kage are known for their prodigious athleticism, lightning fast reflexes and martial prowess. Although Haro was not raised as a Kage warrior himself, he inherited much of his people's natural propensity for a strong mind-muscle connection, allowing him to react quickly when he needs to and allows him to use both his hands with equally impressive proficiency.

Dark Vision [Strength | Racial]
Kage eyes have evolved to accommodate vision in the low light inherent in subterranean life. The unique way their eyes capture light allows them to see perfectly well with very little light.

Street Smarts [Strength]
Given his origin as an urchin in the Coruscant Underworld, Haro developed a good sense of how things work within densely populated inner city settings and how best to navigate within them. He knows where not to go if you want to avoid trouble and where to go if you want to find it. His experience and natural charisma has also allowed him to communicate quite well with a wide variety of peoples, even if he isn't familiar with their language, through body language and other universal ways of relating.

Adept Slicer [Strength]
Haro is mostly self-taught in the art of slicing and therefore has his own unique way of doing things. However, that doesn't mean it's any less effective. He's good with a Slicer Spike and he knows his way around most standard systems including data-pads, speeders, security systems, even most common ship and droid interfaces.

Shipyard Mechanic [Strength]
Growing up as a shipyard mechanic's apprentice, Haro has been exposed to a variety of vehicles, including speeders and ships, and has consequently learned how to operate or pilot and perform advanced maintenance on most all vehicles.

Scrapper [Strength]
Haro has become adept at finding use for discarded or otherwise undervalued objects. A true subscriber to "one man's trash is another man's treasure" paired with a talent for understanding how things work together makes Haro an effective tinkerer. He is in a constant state of working on a project, whether it's combining, disassembling, repairing or upgrading or just getting creative with new found material.

Winsome Nature [Strength]
Despite his dedication to his craft, Haro's infectious personality shines through his appearance. He exudes a lively and effervescent aura, constantly displaying his trademark energetic and goofy nature. His infectious laughter and easy smile draw people in, making him a favorite among his peers and elders alike.

Basics of Combat [Strength]
Haro was first taught the basics of how to wield a blaster by his guardian and employer at the shipyard. Being the personal pilot for a couple Jedi, he has also been trained in the basics of lightsaber forms and melee combat. So, although he has dabbled in a variety of combat, at this point he is more of a jack of all trades and a master of none.

Sticky Fingers [Strength / Weakness]
Haro has always had a bad habit of ending up with things that don't belong to him. Whether he really wants it or just gets swept up in the game of proving to himself that he can take it, he has developed a knack for pickpocketing and thieving.

Scrawny [Weakness]
Still quite young and having grown up with limited access to nourishment, Haro's naturally lean form has very little muscle mass or substance. Although it might allow him to more easily squeeze through tight spots, it doesn't do him much good in an all out brawl.

Head In The Clouds [Weakness]
Despite having to "grow up quickly," Haro hasn't lost his childish sense of curiosity and optimism. However, this also means he tends to make impulsive decisions or lack focus and he can sometimes be oblivious or naive about things that might be obvious to others.

Haro Aven began his life in the Coruscant Underworld on level 1312. He didn't know his father but his mother, Klea, loved him dearly and worked very hard to try to provide a life for them both as a single parent with very little means in a dangerous environment. However, Haro was orphaned just past his eighth year when his mother was killed in a work-related accident. The young boy was forced to largely fend for himself, somewhat supported by the community who'd taken a liking to Klea and her son. Among that community was Klea's employer, the local shipyard mechanic, Jett Kaal. He began making a home for himself at the local shipyard, scrounging for spare parts or anything of value that was easy to take, trading them for food and clean water. Instead of punishing the boy for stealing from her, Kaal eventually took him under her wing and taught Haro to earn his keep around the shipyard. She quickly discovered his talents were quite useful, particularly his extraordinary memory and his knack for engineering and mechanics. Determined to make the best of his circumstances and natural gifts, Haro took to the trade with devotion and determination, soon acquiring something of a reputation for his savant-like affinity for mechanics and engineering in his community.

Life as a mechanic’s apprentice in the Coruscant Underworld was not necessarily easy or safe but it was relatively simple and it kept Haro out of trouble. It certainly didn’t stop the boy from dreaming of someday seeing the surface of his home world or, better yet, seeing the galaxy beyond. One day, when he was about fifteen, his dreams came true when a young Jedi padawan by the name of Niynx Ioune Niynx Ioune brought his late master's ship, The Little Minnow, to Jett Kaal's shipyard for repair after barely escaping a pirate attack. Niynx's master, Jedi Knight La T'vil, was once an intimate companion and dear friend to Jett and news of her heroic death in the attack weighed heavy on both Jett and Niynx as they discussed what was to become of the ship. After meeting Niynx and learning of his master’s death, Haro vowed not to charge him a single credit for his labor to repair The Little Minnow and the two boys agreed to exchange expertise instead – Haro would teach Niynx mechanics while they repaired the ship together and Niynx would in turn teach Haro the basics of lightsaber forms and melee combat during their downtime. The boys became fast friends during their time together and, when it came time for Niynx to return to his Jedi duties, he invited Haro to join him and his new Jedi master Lao-ta Lao-ta on their adventures as their co-pilot and ship mechanic. Haro enthusiastically accepted, said his goodbyes to the shipyard and the only place he’d ever known, and took to the stars with his new friends.

B0-DE57 [Droid]

Nicknamed "Bodie," this tiny flying droid was rescued from the rubble and repurposed by Haro into the useful little helper that they are now. Bodie is outfitted with a small pairs of wings, legs, photoreceptors, and antenne as well as an internal compartment to store miniature tools. The little droid is small enough to fit into a pocket, holster, or even the palm of a hand. The droid's compact size allows it to fly into tight spaces.

Vibroknives (2)
These special knives were gifted to Haro by his mentor, Jett Kaal. Having some proficiency with the blades, Mrs. Kaal taught the boy some of the basics of how to handle them.
