Private Hard Times Vol.1

Rasgos slipped past the gate while a disguised Carter kept the other guard distracted. He was able to get into the safe house no problem. It was like the guards purposely didn’t want to see him. He made his way silently past two guards who were arguing about which one of them should have to take out a big box of trash, hiding himself from view behind several rows of large container units.

Ragos had to stop and crouch low behind one of the containers when a guard and a wequay in a thousand credit suit came from down the stairs.

Must be gunda.

The weequay and his escort stopped at one the containers punched a series of numbers onto a keypad and lifted the lid. Ragos’ eyes went wide when he saw what was inside. Spice, a whole karking load of it. Gunda took a brick out of the crate and went back up the stairs unaware that Ragos was on his heels. Gunda’s bodyguard, a human, tried to close the door of the upstairs office but found it blocked by Ragos’ foot, looked up and found himself staring down the barrel of Ragos’ blaster pistol.

“Close that damn do-” Gunda was starting to say when his man was shoved forcefully in the room by Ragos.

It took no thought at all to squeeze the trigger of his blaster, a smoking hole appeared in the bodyguard’s chest as he slumped over. The weequay called Gunda didn’t even have time to look surprised before Ragos put two blaster bolts into his face.

Ragos hurried over to the desk that the now dead spice dealer was laying under and began digging through the drawer as quickly as he could, shoving aside anything that looked mundane. He could feel the presence of the guards downstairs becoming…less, he assumed that had something to do with Carter, who he could sense was on the stairs now, headed right for this room. Ragos found what looked like an empty data pad and shoved it in his back pocket, he also found a small hold out blaster. He pulled the weapon out and shot close enough to his arm to get singed and hastily tossed the blaster near Gunda, trying to make it seem like there was a shoot out and he had been forced to kill the sleemo.

The only thing now was to wait for Carter, get the husband and get out. He’d come back for the spice later.

Carter went up to the second floor whilst disguised as the guard from downstairs, as he approach one of the guards upstairs. When Carter was upstairs trying to find the last guard, the last guard came out of a room and saw Carter. "Slacking off I see, ey Brady?" the guard said to Carter, "Errr.... nah man, just got a bit bored downstairs" Carter said weirdly, as his disguise kit does not mimic voice only appearance. "What's wrong with your voice?" the guard asked Carter with suspicion, as Carter not doing a good job not sounding weird at all. "Nothing wrong with my voice man, maybe it's your voice that's off" Carter retorted, to which the guard replied "You're the one speaking so weirdly different" and then added "What's going on Brady?". The guard began to come closer to Carter, whilst giving a confused and glaring look at him.

"I just choked on my saliva that's all" Carter said as he steadily put his hand near his stun baton, as the guard then once again asked, "Where's everyone else?". Carter knew he can't talk his way out of this with the guard in front of him is too suspicious of him, and he does not know how long before the guards outside decided to head inside the building. Carter walk closer to guard also, so he could close their distance quicker, as before the guard asked another question, Carter charged at the guard. The guard was shocked and barely evade Carter attack, as he rolled to his right, to which the guard began to try and take out his gun. Carter threw his stun baton and aimed it at his had, with the electricity being on, as it hit his hand and shocked him, which cause the guard unwillingly threw the gun.

Carter then rush towards the guard as he has to take care of him in close combat as he can't use a blaster without alarming the other guards. Carter went for a right hook on the guard, but the guard managed to evade it. The guard counter with a kick to Carter stomach, causing Carter to slam his backside to the railing behind him. The guard went on the offensive this time, as he got Carter on the rails (ropes), hitting Carter with punches to his sides. His left side took quite the punches, since Carter couldn't evade or blocked it due to the kick that fazed him a bit. Carter then tried to put some distance on them for a bit by kicking the back of the guard leg to immobilize him. Carter then went to the side, as he went for another right hook to the guard which connected but didn't knocked him out. The guard retaliate with 2 huge swing but Carter able to dodge it easily, as he counter with an upper cut to the jaw which knocking him away from Carter but also KO'd the guard. The guard was laying on the floor, not moving, as Carter checked to make sure the guard is really out cold and take his blaster.

After he made sure the guard is out, he went to the room the guard came out from, where he found the husband shaking in his boots. When the husband saw Carter, he exclaimed, "Please don't hurt me, just let me go, please!", making quite a noise. Carter immediately went to him to shut him up before saying, "Shut up man, I'm here to save your ass". "So you're not one of them?" the husband asked as his voice was stuttering and trembling, "I told you already I'm here to help, damn!", before Carter then added, "I'm Detective Carter, your wife asked for my service". Carter untied the husband and helped him stand up, "Is my wife safe? where is she?", as Carter then answer before heading towards the door, "Yeah she's safe, she's at my office". The husband stood up and came close to Carter, "How are we going to get out of here?", the husband asked Carter. "I already took out 5 of the guard here, and the other guy should probably have taken out a few of them, so our plan is simple" Carter looked at the husband before giving him a blaster he took from the guard he knocked out, "We have to fight our way out and run like hell to the speeder".

The husband looked at the blaster as he then said to Carter, "What's this for?", to which Carter looked in awe at the husband and replied "To clean the floors. What do you think a blaster is for man, damn!". Carter slowly walked outside the room and to one of the windows to check the situation and the guards outside. The husband walked timidly before he said, "But I've never used a blaster before in my life", as Carter sigh and then glared at the husband. "Well this will be a perfect time to see if your good with a blaster if you want to survive out of here", as Carter glanced outside the window before deciding his next move to get the husband to safety.

He waited one heartbeat, then another and a third just to be sure but Carter never came, not even after waiting three moments more. Ragos wasn’t going to wait any longer. He hurried back down the stairs, growing less and less worried about running into someone with each step that he took. Ragos stopped just long enough at that one storage container to stuff two bricks of spice down the front of his tuxedo pants before running the rest of the way to the speeder that was waiting out front.

He hopped into the driver’s seat, pushed the start button, and the speeder flared to life. He should've punched the accelerator and got the kark out of there but he could probably give Carter a minute or two longer to make it back. While he waited, he thumbed through Gunda’s datapad, or he tried to, the kriffing thing was empty, nothing in it but a name. “Marcus Venn” along with two other words that were highlighted and underlined “The Family”

It didn’t mean chit to him but it had meant something to the man he had just killed.

While Ragos was outside a few of the knocked out guards had woken up and called for backup. A loud alarm blared through the warehouse and now Carter and the husband were staring down six armed guard who were mightily pissed off, one of which was even a mirror image of Carter’s disguise.

“Kriff.”

Ragos punched it, the warehouse became smaller and smaller in his rearview as he flew away.

“Kriff.”

He yanked the control and now the building was getting larger and larger. He raced past the open gate and up through the open dock doors. Going far faster than was reasonable in such a tight space, he navigated the tight corridors of the warehouse, not hitting a single thing. Not until he meant to.

Three of the guards including brady went flying into the center of the room as Ragos rammed them with the speeder finally coming to a stop in front of Carter and a blue hued Twi’lek man.

“Time to go!” Ragos shouted as the remaining guards opened fire.
