HAPAN NOBILITY

The Hapes Consortium is ruled by the Queen Mother, whose authority is supreme throughout the realm. Her word carries the force of law, and she presides over the government of the Crown while commanding the Royal Navy, Royal Army, and the Consortium's other permanent military forces. Beneath the Crown, each world is governed by the head of a loyal noble house, entrusted with authority over the planet and its people. These families collect taxes, administer local government, and maintain their own planetary defenses in exchange for governing and protecting the worlds placed under their care.

To retain their lands, titles, and political influence, the noble houses are expected to remain loyal to the Queen Mother and answer her call in times of war or crisis. They may be required to contribute soldiers, warships, supplies, or other resources in support of the Consortium's royal forces. Most worlds are governed by a Ducha, though there some rare instances where they are ruled by men who bear the title of Duch'ix.

Ta'a Chume​	The absolute ruler of the entire Hapes Consortium.​
Chume'da​	The Crown Prince or Princess, heir to the Hapes Consortium.​
Chume'la​	The title given to the spouse of a Chume'da, if the heir is male.​
Pal'da​	Prince of the Hapes Consortium, if not the heir.​
Pelin'a​	Princess of the Hapes Consortium, if not the heir.​
Rai'ix Chume​	Consort of the Ta'a Chume​
Ducha​	Duchess, ruler over wealthy planets or regions within the Hapes Cluster.​
Duch'ix​	Duke, ruler over wealthy planets or regions within the Hapes Cluster.​
Duch'da​	The heir apparent to a Ducha or Duch'ix​
Mark'la​	Marchioness. Governs over the frontier region near pirate territory, or the buffer zones between Hapan territory and other foreign powers.​
Mark'ix​	Marquess. Governs over the frontier regions near pirate territory, or the buffer zones between Hapan territory and other foreign powers.​
Mark'da​	The heir apparent to a Mark'la or Mark'ix​
Tal'da​	Illegitimate male child of nobility. Also known as, 'Lesser branch child'.​
Telin'a​	Illegitimate female child of nobility. Also known as, 'Lesser branch child'.​
Kai Tal'da ​	An illegitimate male child that's been recognized.​
Kai Telin'a​	An illegitimate female child that's been recognized.​
