Hapes Consortium

The Hapes Consortium has always stood as a powerful, albeit insular, governmental body within the aptly named Hapes Cluster. Hidden behind the Transitory Mists, the Consortium is ruled by the matriarchal Court of Hapes. Wealthy, technologically refined, and fiercely isolationist, Hapes maintains its sovereignty through political marriages, naval strength, and the near-mythical protection of its nebular barrier. Outsiders are distrusted, men are believed to be politically subordinate, and the Queen Mother rules as both sovereign and symbol of Hapan supremacy.

During the final months of its uneasy association with the Galactic Alliance, Hapes became a crucible of rebellion and civil war. Violent reformists, disenfranchised nobles, and other such agitators clashed with loyalist houses and royal security forces, turning once-polished cities and palace-worlds into sites of assassinations, purges, and street violence. The GA's influence destabilized long-standing traditions, and every reform effort was paid for in blood.

Ultimately, Hapes severed its ties to the Galactic Alliance, reaffirming fealty to a new Queen Mother, Aurellia and returning to absolute sovereignty under her rule. In the power vacuum left by galactic collapse, the Consortium quietly transformed into a haven for Black Sun interests, granting sanctuary and logistical support to its pirate armada, the Crimson Fleet. Under the influence of Royal High Commander Kalantha the Consortium has seen a surge in coordination between its local pirate fleets and the Royal Navy.
