SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Plated in gold, with a phrik barrel and frame, each Gun of Command (GOC) bears an inscription on the side of the barrel: "Liberator"
STRENGTHS
  • Weak Minded Fool: on the weak-willed (such as most NPCs) a shot from the GOC will disrupt their thought processes and render them unable to distinguish between their own thoughts and the commands of the wielder of the GOC - or anyone who happens to be nearby - and they may follow any order or instruction blindly, even suicidal ones.
  • Pistol Whip: when all else fails, the heavy phrik barrel can be used in a pinch to block a lightsaber or smack an obstinate enemy in the face.
  • Mechu-Der-Won't: the GOC is sealed with force nullification resin, which means that Mechu Deru practicioners and cyberpaths will not be tampering with the innards of the GOC.
WEAKNESSES
  • Nobody's Fool: on the exceptionally strong-willed (such as nearly every player character on Chaos), the effects of the GOC will be reduced and a character, if struck, will only be severely distracted - having to focus their concentration on avoiding the GOC's effects on their mind rather than whatever else they happened to be doing.
  • Up Close and Personal: the GOC is not quite point blank, but it may as well be as the electromagnetic pulse it shoots has a very short range before it loses cohesion.
DESCRIPTION
In exchange for assisting the Ducha Aurellia Revali in a pirate rebellion in the Hapes Cluster, the Black Sun Syndicate received a number of shipments of Hapan Guns of Command, much praised weapons vaunted for their ability to disrupt another's thoughts with an electromagnetic pulse, rendering the victim susceptible to any command - even blatantly suicidal ones. For much of their history, the Hapans used the weapons in executions, shooting a Hapan male with the gun, handing him a blaster, and then commanding him to take his own life. The Black Sun Syndicate finds this... appealing.
