  • AR-0B Damage Reduction Armor Component - A hallmark of Von Sorenn Industries Shipwrights, the Damage Reduction Armor Component maintains an ablative current coursing through the hull of the vessel. This current assists in the removal of harmful debris and substances from the vessel's hull. This system also assists in increasing the longevity of a vessel's hull, allowing it to serve for longer periods of time.

  • GalaxyGuard Mk VII - This system provides additional endurance to the Deflector Shields, while also increasing their range. Often it can be equipped with additional systems to greatly increase this given benefit; however, the Hammerhead III-class Cruiser is only equipped with one such device.

  • Anti-Frigate / Corvette - Its primary role is to focus on screening against Frigates and Corvettes, keeping them away from larger vessels such as the Centurion II-class Battlecruiser or the Gardener-class Super Star Destroyer.

  • Support Role - While heavily armed, it is more capable when dealing with smaller vessels such as Frigates and Corvettes; placing it in a purely supportive role rather than a front line ship-to-ship vessel. Often they are deployed at the edges of or near the center of a fleet to screen for Frigates and Corvettes.

  • Limited Starfighters - Though the vessel does have a hanger, its limited capability in terms of its carrying capacity severely limits its capability of fielding starfighters. Thus it is better off to rely on specialized vessels that are specifically designed to act as Carriers.

A resurgent design from the Ancient Republic; the Hammerhead III-class Cruiser is designed to act predominately as a screening vessel, equipped with heavier armament and defensive capabilities to ensure that it is capable of withstanding attack from multiple Frigates and Corvettes. Thus it falls into a primary role as a Support Vessel, focusing on screening faster moving vessels away from larger Star Destroyers, Carriers, Heavy Cruisers, and Battlecruisers. The Hammerhead III-class Cruiser is highly cost-efficient - compared to many of the larger vessels produced by Von Sorenn Industries. This cost-efficiency of the Cruiser ensures that even some of the poorest planets within Confederacy space are more than capable of fielding and maintaining a rather sizeable fleet of these vessels.

Relatively small for a Cruiser; the Hammerhead III is not designed, nor meant, to stand toe-to-toe against larger Cruisers or even similarly armed vessels. Even with it being equipped with a Damage Reduction Armor Component - utilized to assist in the removal of harmful debris and substances from the hull - and a GalaxyGuard; used to provide additional endurance and range to the vessel's Deflector Shields. However; like many vessels, it does come with its own drawbacks, such as its limited hanger space - forcing a fleet to rely more on planetside Starfighters or Dedicated Carriers. Likewise, it is a rather Average vessel in terms of Speed and Maneuverability, often finding itself outclassed by the likes of Fast Attack Corvettes and Gunships. Often it attempts to counter this shortcoming via the application of Tractor Beam Projectors and Heavy Ion Cannons to ensnare and disable faster-moving craft - as a means to either capture or more easily destroy these smaller vessels. It does so by concentrating its Quad Turbolaser and Heavy Turbolaser cannons on enemy vessels; while being equipped with a series of defensive measures - such as Point Defense Cannons and AntiMissile Countermeasures - to assist in dealing with Starfighters and Bombers.

While capable of landing on a planet, it carries only a limited number of personnel - be it organic soldiers or droids - and their equipment. More often than not they can be utilized to deploy or ferry small garrisons in a system rather than being at the head of a vast invasion armada. More often than not they are also deployed within Planetary Defense Forces - or serving as Courier vessels within the Confederacy when not on the front lines of a fleet engagement.

I do like me some hammerheads! However we have one problem.

  • Small Cruiser - Unlike other vessels of this class, the Hammerhead III-class Cruiser is considered one of the smaller Cruisers deployed. Even with a formidable armament and defensive capabilities, they prove to have difficulty when dealing with larger or more heavily armed and armored Cruisers
  • Average - Beyond its defensive and offensive capabilities, the Speed and Maneuverability of the vessel are average. Though capable of chasing down slower Frigates and Corvettes; faster vessels can run circles around this Cruiser without a problem, placing it as a severe disadvantage against vessels such as Fast Attack Corvettes and Gunships.

These are not applicable weaknesses, please remove. Being small of a classification does not matter much in the grand scheme of things. Being Average is also...not applicable. Being Average is not a weakness and to add on top of it, you have enough armament technically even in the defense section to slowly scratch towards Very High yet it still skirts that limit.

Please let me know when you remove both of the weaknesses and I will push this towards Approval.
