- Wealth: Low. Without large corporations, many of Hajari's residents are self-employed or work for someone that is. They support locally grown and produced goods as much as possible and do not have many exports.
- Stability: Medium. In the past, stability has been low due to the presence of crime. However, life in Hajari has greatly improved since the arrival of the Silver Jedi some years ago.
- Freedom & Oppression: Fairly relaxed and open. The people here are generally warm and welcoming.
- Description: A city located near rocky cliffs and mountains on Chalacta. Hajari is quite a sight, with many buildings sporting vibrant blue hues that contrast against the tawny desert landscape. Here, the locals are honest, work hard, and take a lot of pride in their culture.
EAT & DRINK:
Chalactan Chai [source: x]
A very popular hot drink on Chalacta, brewed with warming spices and milk. Often found in small shops, but generally found being served by numerous street-side vendors. Some of the best are literally made by one man, one pot, one kettle, and a small flame. Usually served in small clay pots, but sometimes in tall glasses that allow the milk tea to be 'pulled' or poured from a a height (often above one's head).
Aloo Potatoes [source: x]
A popular street snack, and a dish made in homes -- often using leftover boiled potatoes. It is flavored with wonderfully fragrant spices and herbs. Word is that Advika Basai makes the best (and the spiciest) at her streetside shop.
PLACES TO GO
Marketplace [source: x]
Located in the central part of the city. There are numerous options for fresh produce and fruit, meat, fish, spices, and other goods (textiles, baskets, ect.)
Night Bazaar [source: x]
Found on the outskirts of the city, locations varies but always opens after dusk. On weekends, vendors of all types come out to sell their wares under the cover of darkness. However, there's usually nothing nefarious -- but they are a lot of street food vendors selling delicious snacks.
Sai Temple - Force Adepts [source: x]
Perched above the city on a rocky cliff is the Temple of Force Adepts, where visitors may tour and learn more about this way of the force.
Vrunda Lake [source: x]
A man-made lake, home to a lush garden and orchard of exotic fruit trees ripe for the picking. There are even some floating gardens here that are used to grow produce. It is a tranquil place to relax and spend an afternoon.
Hajari Community Tech: A small university that draws students from the surrounding towns as well. It's a viable option for many locals that do not have the way or the funds to attend a larger university closer to the capital.
Security Base: the home of the local security forces that keep the city safe. Once, this was quite a small group -- unable to stop the growth of crime. However, with the arrival of the Silver Jedi on Chalacta years ago, they have risen to match the gangs and bandits that once threatened the city. There is also some Rangers deployed here, and it is home to a new squadron pilots with a handful of starfighters to their name. The main space port adjoins base.
SECURITY
Medium. While much of the crime here has been eradicated, there are still some bold groups of bandits that will ride through and harass the locals. However, the local security officers received quite a boost when the Silver Jedi came to Chalacta. They received much needed training from the Antarian Rangers, and were better out-fitted to defend their city and keep the people safe.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Hajari originally began as a small settlement, but the Hajar Clan of old was swift to claim the surrounding areas as their own. A stronghold was constructed to house and protect the Clan's leadership, what is now used as a Temple atop the rocky cliffs. The city still carries the name Hajari to pay homage to their roots.
Unlike the years prior to the arrival of the Silver Jedi, it's not uncommon to see tourists visiting Hajari. It is something of a hot spot for experiencing local Chalactan cuisine. It is also considered something of a spiritual retreat as Force Adepts make a pilgrimage through the desert and up the rocky cliffs to the temple, where the Chalactan Force Adept resides.
Now, it is relatively safe to walk the streets and visitors are generally regarded with warmth. The weather here is dry and hot, though there are some occasional downpours and dust storms.
