SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Palm Print Scanner: These slugthrower pistols are extremely expensive and difficult to make. To prevent people from stealing them, they are outfitted with a Palm Print Scanner system. Once someone takes the weapon into their hand a near instantaneous scan will occur. If the user's palm print does not match any of the prints pre-registered in that specific weapon, the scanner will activate the two-part security system. The first line of defense will be an electric shock delivered directly into the palm of the unregistered user. This shock would be a heavily disorienting, if not incapacitating shock that could leave the user effectively tazed. The second part of the security system is the automatic safety engagement that can not be disengaged until the proper palm print is introduced to the weapon.
Strengths:
  • Stopping Power: Each slugthrower pistol is capable of delivering a hardy punch. The pistols fire out large slugs at incredible rates that can leave someone extremely wounded if they are undefended. If outfitted with more advanced slugthrower rounds this pistol can even pierce most standard armor at close range.
  • Slugs: The slugs used in this weapon are capable of piercing through energy based defenses that are not equipped to deal with this class of slugthrower.
  • Accurate: Although the weapon's recoil can have a big impact on the shooter's ability to hit their target the slugthrower is an impressively accurate weapon. When properly zeroed to it's owner it will seldom miss a target within it's effective range.
  • Durable: Due to the chromium plating these weapons employ and their intricate inner workings they are quite capable of resisting the rough elements that they may be introduced into. A stern Beskar frame keeps them safe from minor kinetic blows and the occasional thrashing from being thrown around or used as a bludgeon.
Weaknesses:
  • Recoil: This slugthrower comes with a bit of a kick. When fired, the weapon can give off a jump of several inches, especially in unsuspecting hands. This recoil forces the wearer to re-aim after nearly every shot taken. If used by an untrained gunman, they can have a lot of difficulty learning to adjust and work with the weapon in the heat of combat.
  • Manual Loader: The ammunition held in the revolvers cylinder has to be physically replaced by the firer after each and every iteration. After removing the shells from the last round, the user must manually reload each individual slug into the weapon. While some people can learn to do this in a timely manner, it will never be as fast as utilizing a magazine or automatic loader.
  • EMP Backlash: Although an electromagnetic pulse will not disable the weapon or compromise it's ability to fire, it can harm the slugthrower's palm print scanner. In many cases the security system will no longer function, completely disabling all of the defensive measures the weapon has. In some rare cases, it can cause the security electroshock to deliver an unsuspecting shock to the user, even if they are within the scanner's registered databanks.
DESCRIPTION
The H-series of slugthrowers was the first line of pistols developed by Dynetech industries. With a polished Chromium plate, most of the slugthrowers have a shiny exterior appearance. Below that Chromium shell is a slim Beskar frame. Targeting the weapon towards Mandalorians, Dynetech Industries believed they could draw in more business with the crude, heavy, metal. However, it was the Beskar frame that leaves the weapon with such a sturdy body. The inner workings of the slugthrower are not much different from any other of it's class. While Dynetech worked hard to keep the recoil down they could not completely wipe away the negative trait of the powerful pistol. In fact, the most unique trait of the pistol is the palm print scanner embedded in the weapon's grip and trigger.

When Dynetech issues the weapon out they take a detailed palm scan of the buyer. The buyer's palm print is then uploaded into the weapon's grip so that they will not have to face the defensive security systems instilled within the weapon.
