STRENGTHS
  • Rapid Deployment: Fast, agile, and resilient, the GT-61 is designed to shuttle an entire platoon of Xerxikeen Gene Warriors or a sizeable detachment of Battle Droids to the front lines or through gaps in enemy formations.
WEAKNESSES
  • Antipersonnel: Through sustained fire, the GT-61's repeating blasters might be able to whittle down armoured vehicles, though they are clearly suboptimal against anything bigger and more well-armoured than run-of-the-mill infantry.
DESCRIPTION
Initially designed to supplement the equally nimble
Hellhound-series Light Repulsortank, the GT-61 sacrifices firepower for speed, agility, and resilience. Meant more to swoop in, deliver its troops while laying down suppressive fire, and then return for more or awaiting extraction, the GT-61 sports the more powerful repulsors of an airspeeder, allowing it to climb to altitudes of several thousands of metres, if necessary.

Easily mass-produced due to its simple yet reliable design, the GT-61 has found itself being put to use by everything from private military contractors to planetary law enforcement, with some even being repurposed for entirely civilian uses, such as cargo transportation.

In its original and primary use as a battlefield APC, the GT-61 can be employed as part of a wide range of strategies, often alongside Hellhounds; examples from its use in Erakhis' defence force include Kherov's Gauntlet - using a trio of Hellhounds to batter a hole through enemy defences and deploy small squads of heavy battle droids while a pair GT-61s deploy their swarms of lighter battle droids behind enemy lines - and the Ormehn Plunge, where these airspeeders deploy from a military transport in the midst of its descent, firing their repulsors only right before they would otherwise impact the ground.
