OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION
Tusken_Flag.png

  • Organization Name: Grrh'orruk'rruk's Tribe, Horruk's Tribe
  • Classification: Sand People Tribe
  • Affiliation: Grrh'orruk'rruk
  • Organization Symbol: Pictured to the right, the symbol used by the tribe is a revival of an ancient symbol of the Sand People.
  • Description: Grrh'orruk'rruk's Tribe is a tribe of Sand People (or, as they were once called, Ghorfas), who wander Tatooine's Dune Sea, though they do so with purpose. They roam the sands of Tatooine attempting to gather enough resources to retake sacred ancestral homes of their people, forced to wander no more.
GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION
SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Hierarchy: At the top of the hierarchy of the Tribe is, of course, Horruk as chieftain. Below Horruk is a council of shamans, wise elders who guide the tribe both spiritually and mortally, divining the wisdom of the spirits. The rest of the tribe is fairly unorganized, with members typically taking the roles of warrior, crafters, or animal caretaker, looking after the tribes assortment of banthas, massiffs, jerbas, anoobas, and any other animal the tribe comes into possession of. At the bottom of the hierarchy are the younglings, the children of the tribe. Unlike some other tribes, Horruk's tribe does not practice slavery, so they are absent from the usual Sand People hierarchy.
  • Membership: Other Sand People are typically welcomed into the tribe without much in the way of ritual or initiation. Much like Mandalorians, the tribe also takes in orphans and stragglers they find abandoned in the sands, nursing them back to health. For those who are not Ghorfa themselves, orphan, or abandoned, but wish to join the tribe, one must go through an initiation: first, one must engage in ritual combat with one of the tribe's best warriors. If they are victorious, the initiate must then travel into the sands and slay a great beast (typically a Krayt dragon), bringing a trophy back to the tribe as proof of their deed.
  • Climate: The Tribe is very friendly and protective among each other. Once an outsider passes the initiation ritual, and they are welcomed into the tribe, they too are treated as family, as one of their own. Generosity, courage, and honor are held in high regard by the tribe, as well as the ability to withstand pain and willingness to defend the tribe. The tribe acts as one big family, and if any member is found guilty of intentionally bringing harm to another, they are stripped of their weapons and exiled, not to return on pain of death.
  • Reputation: As a tribe of Sand People, Horruk's Tribe is often regarded by outsiders with caution at best and hostility at worst. Those outsiders who do come in contact with the tribe will find that as long as boundaries are not crossed and intentions are pure, the tribe is surprisingly open to trading with outsiders. They rarely ever attack non-Ghorfa in their current territory, unless they are seen as dangerous to the tribe. They know the symbols of crime syndicates that operate in the area, and will attack those aligned with the organizations that they see in their territory, seeing them as harmful to not only the tribe but Tatooine itself.
  • Curios: As a tribe of Sand People, all members regardless of race have some variation of the typical robes of their people, though the clothing of the tribe tends to be more ornate and ornamental than that of other tribes. Charms of bantha horn, robes of rich cloth, and jewelry such as necklaces often adorned with gemstones like Tatooine flamegems. Nearly every member of the tribe that is of at least teen age, regardless of position, owns a Gaderffii, warriors also typically owning some form of Cycler rifle. Perhaps the most surprising for outsiders to discover is that the tribe does not shun technology, and though their abilities to create new technology are currently pretty limited, they use what they are able to. Swoops and speeder bikes are often used to patrol the areas around the tribe's current location, as well as travel when a bantha would be too slow for the urgency required.
  • Rules: The rules of the tribe are simple: help other Sand People, bring no harm to each other, and do not start conflict with outside groups. The tribe's Shamans oversee religious ceremonies and rituals, and the tribe's religious beliefs center around spirits, both those of ancestors and deceased Ghorfa of the past or taking the form of animals like banthas.
  • Goals: Horruk wishes to get the resources necessary to end his people's millennia-long diaspora, which includes retaking several sites including the Lost City of the Ghorfas and Gafsa, a canyon in the Jundland Wastes that is of great importance to the Sand People both because it is believed among their people that it was the location where they had first stepped forth on Tatooine, as well as being home to a rare sacred water well. To do this, Horruk also wishes to form peaceful relations with the non-Ghorfa settlers of Tatooine, hopefully ending ages-old cycles of bloodshed, at least in a small part of the world.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
A tribe of Sand People led by the Force-Sensitive Shaman Grrh'orruk'rruk (often shortened to Horruk when spoken of by non-Ghorfa) walks the sands of Tatooine, though unlike some tribes which travel aimlessly, Horruk's tribe has purpose. The Ghorfa Shaman has ambitions of ending his people's diaspora which has gone on for millennia, starved, dehydrated, and forced out of their homes by greedy settlers ages ago. Though the Sand People will never forget what was done to them, Horruk hopes to leave the past behind and forge a bright new future for Sand People.

Horruk was granted chieftainship of the tribe after he slew a Sith who attempted to abuse the rituals and religious beliefs of the tribe to use them as tools. The two engaged in combat, and though initially at a disadvantage Horruk eventually prevailed when he unleashed a Force Scream that stunned the Sith for long enough for Horruk to cave their skull in with his gaffi stick. The elder Shamans of the tribe appointed Horruk as the clan's chieftain after this fight and he claimed the Sith's purple lightsaber for himself as a trophy, later adding a fang to make the weapon his own.

After receiving spirit visions in the middle of a sandstorm from an enormous spirit in the form of a Bantha, Horruk has set his tribe on a new path: one of renewal, rebirth, return. He wishes to see the Sand People return to their ancient homes and reclaim their ancestry, their history lost to time for millennia. He knows, however, that this cannot be done through violence: the outsiders are far too many, and conflict with them has only ever hurt the Sand People in the long run. So instead Horruk wishes to trade peacefully with the other inhabitants of Tatooine, peacefully coexisting in a mutually beneficial relationship. No change happened under the Confederacy, but the Chieftain has hopes that the newest faction to claim ownership of Tatooine, the Mandalorian Enclave, will bear fruit.

Hey this is a great submission. I do think the OOC note under membership is a little superfluous and could be removed. The sections at that point are designed to focus on the In Character aspect anyhow. You could move a note up to the OOC section if you really want to mention it.

Also on a related note, since the series is still airing and we have active bans on using material 30 days post each episode you may want to remove the disclaimer entirely and check you image to ensure the episode date does not fall within the 30 day ban for that particular episode.

Ping once you edit that for me. Thanks.

Ah, I added that because the codex template for organizations said "Include both IC and OOC if someone were interested in your organization how they would join".

The two images I used from BoBF are both from Episode 1, which aired December 29th. One is in the story gallery in the linked episode guide, and the other is in the concept art gallery. I was careful to not use anything from the other episodes yet.

LOL all good... yeah keep it in then.

I am definitely more concerned about your citation and use of an image from the Book of Boba Fett. Can you please confirm which episode number that image comes from, and that it does not fall within the ban please.
