Faction Growth of the Republic

Voxyn. He didn’t think he knew the beast, but it sounded vaguely familiar. He made a mental note of conducting his own investigation into those, if the other Hutts did not provide any further information. Popara’s suggestion certainly enticed him, and another pet to keep his court nice and secure would please him. The added intimidation effect of it was not unwelcome eihter.

“I will take up my seat in Wild Space then.” He said after some contemplation. It was natural for the Hutts to want it all. After all, if someone were to have it, why not them? But as Popara suggested, either everyone eats or no one does. He would have spoken against anyone trying to claim half the galaxy, so he could understand the protests. “Karava will become the heart of my sphere of influence.” On the edge of Wild Space, the planet lay south of Hutt space, and in-between Sybris and Gamorr (custom planet, haven’t made it for us yet, but future project!). Karava was a booming hub for smugglers and black market trade. It advertised itself as a free world, where each individual governed him or herself according to their own laws, and suffered the consequences. In the interest of avoiding certain undesirable consequences however, everyone had seemed to agree that to govern themselves in accordance to the pleasure of the Hutts was the best way of moving forwards.

As far as Kossak was concerned, they were all in agreement on this, and would vote in favour should there be a need or desire to formalize it in such a fashion. As for the newcomer, well… Kossak was happy enough to watch that one play out and reap the benefits. Everyone sliding over themselves to talk to him all at once wouldn’t aid anything productive coming out of this. Instead he observed.

Broka listened to what was being said, and read the tone of the room. He counted the votes, unanimously in favor as he expected. This bureaucratic method was slow and tedious, but if that is what the outsiders needed to see to get the illusion of reform, then so be it. Nonetheless, he had the message of law approval be sent out to the other monitors among the Lordas while the CEO was being addressed. One one hand, Broka could care less for the offer of planets in Confederacy space. It was outside of his new sphere of influence, and the resources of Black Sun could easily worm into that space and more without even defiling the policy. However, Broka saw this executive as an opportunity to show the great wealth and opportunity that existed for the corporate sector of the galaxy within the space the Hutt Republic has under its jurisdiction. If this thing is struggling, but turns things around when selling his products on Nar-Shadaa's promenades, that will be the perfect advertisement to the others of the corporate sector.

Broka did not say anything. Just took a sip from his giant chalice, as he listened to the executive speak. He also was seeing how the others in the room would react. He did not want to play his hand at this stage. He also saw no use in saying him to prove his worth to all Hutts present as the others are goading that already. This one corporate man was the test. The Hutts have gotten attention, and this was the first to find them. So, while this test of atteniton was being conducted, Broka sat there observing. Slight hints of the kind of expression of one studying something intently shown through the stoic blob Broka was. The eyes were slightly more squinted. Just needed to let this play out longer before he weighs in.

After a long moment of silence, Popara decided it was time to speak once again as her lips boomed her voice in a thunderous tone, filling up the entire room.
“You slimeball!”, her long purple-ish tail slammed the floor as if it was made of steel, bashing a loud tone and evoking silence from all sides as she approached those foreigners, especially the one that talked funny. As she came closer to the alien, Popara leaned over, narrowing her two large orange orbs, focusing every single evil thought of her mind to that little creature, lowering her tone of voice, before declaring calmly at him. “Do not be foolish enough as to take us for granted, for we are not frightened bilge rats aboard a derelict ship. No!”, as her body stood up, much taller than he was, Popara said in a menacing tone. “We are the Lordas of Nal Hutta, our word is our bond, and our bond is thicker than mud.”, her eyes were opened once again, as her gaze was directed to his muscle, that scum!
“Very well. You want a seat, poodoo? You will have one. Now prove yourself valuable to all of us, and go make some credits, come back and you shall be awarded an embassy, to assume the proper role as one of us.”, the female turned her back at him, sliding her way slowly at his direction as both her hands joined together as she pondered on this matter. It wasn’t odd for them to allow others for joining them in the Cartel, but these were strange waters, the days were changing and they should change as well. “We shall grant you protection, influence, and whatever else you may need. And I believe my fellow lordas all agree, yes?”

At this point, Gortta had more or less zoned out. His mind wandering to clan business that was awaiting him after the conclusion of this meeting. That and the business of reasserting his family's rightful place in the dunes of Tatooine. The business at hand concerned him little and it was for that reason he nearly missed Queen Popara Queen Popara 's prompt for a response. It took him a moment to register what she had said before he let out a guttural groan and raised a stubby hand, "I agree."

He wasn't certain what he agreed to, but if it were an issue, then he would deal with it when the time came. Until such a time came, he was going to continue downing his Ne'tra Gal.

“Bah!” He rumbled low in his throat growing fed up at all the talking that was happening. Valturla knew that becoming a government would mean endless meetings and debates as opposed to the normal way of just declaring things as so but he did not think these endless meetings would be this endless, it was maddening.

“Let him join and let him prove his worth.”

Valturla had better things to do than sit here and quibble over this being and whatever he was selling. They would take his deal and if at a later date they found it unsatisfying, they would alter the deal, as they had always done. He however had other deals to make, he had wanted to take a look at the prisons and see if any new blood for the arenas could be found.
