GridLink has two levels of service: Free, Premium. The Free level targets its users with advertising. The upper level, has the advertising as well but provides a full and broader library of content. The free level is available at no charge to all Cosmi users, and the secondary level is available as a monthly subscription. User can access a variety of news sources, including HoloNews, Holonet News & Entertainment, Corellia News Service, HoloNet, Independent Voice News, Coruscant Global Newsgrid, Kuati First Holo News, Holo-Six Tabloid, and a catalogue that is consistently growing. GridLink is designed to emulate a traditional HoloNews experience, without having to leave Cosmi.
RATIONALE
Once the Cosmi prototype was introduced to the public, Bilquis prompted the team to focus on operations and improvements over revenue, the mission was to attract users first. Beyond people coming to visit Cosmi beyond just to socialize, and the need to bring in some aspect of revenue, Cosmi purchased Utharis GridLink and renamed it as a way to give the public all they needed to hold retention like staying on top of breaking news and current events via catalogues of their favorite holo-newcasts. Utharis GridLink was a company that granted users access to archives of news companies like for a price. It was the first acquirement in the stages to monetize Cosmi.
