STRENGTHS:
  • Pretty Darn Tough: Stripped-down and rugged, utilitarian take-down design, together with resilient materials and high-quality parts, makes this weapon not only easy to carry for prolonged time, but alsopretty durable and reliable, continuing to work even after being submerged, in extreme temperatures, and amid any number of environmental conditions or weather types.
  • Shoot Your Eye Out: Excellent accuracy is found using this weapon, providing even those with very little marksmanship training a very high likelihood of success, even when firing unsupported and without the benefits of targeting assistance or optics.
  • Got Some Ooomph Behind It, Doesn’t It: Specially-designed supercharged firing mode enables this weapon to be successful against species and threats that other weapons in its class cannot usually match. Able to fell a small animal such as a rodent or jakrab, but also larger species such groats, deer, small-to-medium birds, etc. with a single, well-placed shot.
WEAKNESSES:
  • Easy Big Fella, No One’s Gonna Hurt You: While able to hunt small to medium-small game effectively, the weapon is simply not designed to have such great effect against larger creatures (including most humanoids), or those species with armored or particularly thick hides. Will have very little effect against enemies in combat-quality armors or using shields.
  • Not Exactly an Auto-Cannon: Low firing rate and ammunition capacity make this a poor choice for a battle rifle, lacking both the speed and munitions capacity normally expected from those types of weapons.
  • Hope Nobody Heard That: Supercharged for improved stopping power, the weapon’s design makes dampening or suppressing sound difficult. A fact which, in the wrong place at the wrong time, might attract the wrong kind of attention from dangerous wild animals or enemies.
DESCRIPTION:
Having a reliable, accurate, and tough, lightweight sporting blaster to fall back on in a survival situation is a vital step to staying alive. The Greysor is all of that, and more. Modeled on the famous “Defender”, created centuries before by the Drearian Defense Conglomerate, the Greysor uses a rechargeable power cell, offering users up to 75 shots before needing to be swapped out or recharged. With its incredible accuracy and much higher than standard stopping power, the Greysor is perfect for bringing down small-to-medium-sized animals with a single, well-placed shot. Be it something as small as an ash rabbit or as large as a mesa groat or muudbok, the Greysor can put food on your table and fend off most wild animals, provided they’re not too large and aren’t those species endowed by evolution with thick hides, resilient against blasters like the rancor, or don’t have armored plates to protect them. Against a humanoid or larger species, users may need more than a shot or two to make any real effect, and if those beings are using battle armor or personal shields, it’s best to put the idea of engaging them out of one’s mind.
The Greysor’s just not a battle weapon. Its low firing rate and limited munitions capacity, average range, and the loud ‘sizzle’ when firing makes it a poor choice for soldiers who’d rather have something stronger and more intimidating. Yet, the Greysor is remarkably rugged, reliable even in the most hostile conditions and environments, and able to take a pounding and continue to function like it was brand new. Easy to use, and able to be broken down without special tools in just seconds or reassembled in the same time, the Greysor is ideal for stowing away into the kit of an explorer, hunter, or scout. It’s easy to clean, and the including vial of protective coating and cleaning brush, cleverly stored in the detachable, lightweight stock, all making the Greysor your top choice for a field gun, fall-back weapon, or invaluable piece of any survival kit.
