Grendel was orphaned at a fairly young age around a year old, thanks to pirates attacking the ship his parents were traveling on. Thankfully a lone Mandalorian arrived and took out most of the pirates before the rest fled, spotting the baby Dowutin the Mandalorian decided to take the baby in and raise it as a foundling. The years flew by and Grendel grew into a fine young Mandalorian under the watchful eye of the man that raised him.
Having finally reached the age and skill to take the trials to become a full Mandalorian, passing the trials Grendel's adopted father informed him that he was a Mandalorian in exile and as a result had no clan which meant Grendel had no clan. With a goal in mind Grendel would go out into the galaxy and try and make a name for himself and hopefully find a clan that would have him.
