Gregor knows not where, or to whom, he was born. His earliest memories are of harsh instruction, severe punishment, pain and fear. It is as such an abject creature that he crawled through life as an apprentice to Darth Mensis, a former Warlord of the Sith, on Ninn until his late teens. During these years he committed many an atrocity in the name of his Master, sins he was never conscious of until the time came for Ninn’s absolution. The Ashlan Crusade swept Ninn with its burning brand of cleansing fire, putting down the Warlords there and liberating the world from the clutches of the Bogan.
Gregor was one lucky enough to be saved, rather than executed, by a young Pietro Demici, zealous warrior of the Ashlan Papacy and a stern hand to begin guiding him down the path to true redemption. Gregor was witnessed standing at Cardinal Pietro’s side during the mass hanging of captured Sith, the man who oversaw the entire glorious affair, and thus was named the Son of the Hangman - not a particularly flattering moniker but it served to influence the mind of young Gregor to begin believing in his place amidst the Crusade.
Gregor was inducted into the Holy Guard of the Host as an aspirant, battling both his doubters and the enemies of the crusade to earn his place as a respected, loyal, devout soldier. His faith grew, alongside his strength, power and skill, by magnitudes, but Gregor felt that his calling was serving on the front lines, bringing death or redemption to all lost followers of the Bogan. He was given leave to serve as an independent Knight attached to the Grand Army of Ashla where his budding zealotry would be fully realised and exacerbated. He used his knowledge and experience, gained in his past life of sin as apprentice to the cruel, learned Darth Mentis, to aid him in identifying, hunting and defeating countless Sith on the battlefield. Each was offered the same chance at redemption he himself was given, but many proved irredeemable, and so to many he granted the benevolent gift of death.
Such acts, in addition to Gregor’s growing power and influence, birthed the legend of Gregor, Hammer of Ruin and bane of the Sith. Such a blessed appellation, earned through years of toil and blood, was a sign to Gregor of the righteous nature of his belief and path in life, but also served to shed light upon the spark of divinity within Gregor. How could a warrior so pure, proud and powerful not be an instrument of Ashla’s will made manifest - a demi-god brought to the galaxy in these, the End Times, to help protect Ashla’s flock of believers.
Gregor has recently been recalled to Bosph, to attend a meeting with his former mentor, Pietro Demici, for reasons unknown.
