GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Grave Covenant of the Lichemaster
  • Affiliation: Darth Mordheim | Necromancer of the Abyss
  • Classification: Undead Infantry & Guardsman
  • Description: The Grave Covenant of the Lichemaster are an impressive force of undead skeletons raised by Sith Necromancy to act has his personal bodyguards. Although they are undead, they still have a trace of the original warrior inside of them. The Unit Emblem of the Grave Covenant is a large golden jagged mouth implanted upon their armor which symbolizes there desire to consume all that stand against them for their master. Standing quietly beside him, they wear fearsome skull mask over their already undead face to make their enemy flee in terror. Their single purpose in life is to defend their master, Darth Mordheim although they do have some of the behaviors of their former selves such as drinking, gambling and other things that would make anyone believe that they are human.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Small
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Elite
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function:
    • The Grave Covenant are designed to fight in a packed formation, using such formation to better be able to take on a larger number of troops that stand against them. Although they can fight effectively against a single opponent on the field they are more likely to be working in pairs or small groups to fight against the more specialized units of the enemy. As a protection unit, they are trained to operate with peak effectiveness due to having a small piece of their warrior soul inside, that still recalls how to maintain a weapon and use tactics without the direction of Darth Mordheim but do require direction if required to do a tactic that is erratic. Normally in a larger army, they provide the backbone of the army. Driving the smaller units forward to overwhelm the enemy with sheer numbers on the field. They generally do not need support as they are more than able to defend themselves but will engage in teamwork if necessary for a common goal.
Strengths:
  • Undead
    • Being undead warriors, they lack several biological limitations that occur to humanoid warriors. Such has feeling pain, the need to sleep or eat. This allows them to operate at all times as an effective unit and makes them more harder to take down due to them not having the vulnerability of organics such has having organs that when damaged can lead to death. They also have superior strength compared to a normal organic, due to the dark side of the force empowering them because they don't have muscles
  • Heavy Armor
    • Due to being an elite bodyguard regiment for Darth Mordheim. They come equipped with heavy armor compromised of Duraplast, which provides protection up to light grenades, Verpine shatter gun rounds, medium slugs and light laser cannon rounds. being reinforced, the armor becomes extremely resistant to EMP and Ion Cannon warfare. Duraplast also offered very strong protection against lightsabers. Due to being alchemized with sith alchemy, the armor has extra durability than normal.
  • Environmental Immunity
    • Due to being the undead, they also gain immunity to environmental factors that might make them weakened. Making them able to be used on all terrain and in all environments on many different planets, not limiting their effectiveness unlike organic units and makes them more effective overall. Although this immunity doesn't cover deep space or acid and extremely corrosive materials because they are still vulnerable to having their bones being crushed and destroyed.
  • Soul of the Fallen
    • The Grave Covenant having been raised from the dead, stillhouse some semblance of the soul that used to reside within. This allows them to operate weaponry and pilot starships that they otherwise might not be able to without it. With this they can also develop tactics on the battlefield, although they do require direction to operate complex tactics that would require an organic brain to think about. Making them formidable combatants because they can fight like they once did when they were still alive.
  • Limited Protection from the Force
    • Due in part to being empowered by the dark side, they have gained limited protection from the force. Meaning that they have protection from regular force powers that an opponent might use such as force push. They can still feel the effect of being pushed and will stumble a bit, but they will not fall down or be flung away by that power. However they the protection doesn't extend to more specialized force powers or immensely powerful such as form storm or deadly sight.
Weaknesses:
  • Light Side of the Force
    • Due to being empowered by the dark side of the force, light side force powers can cause immense harm to the Grave Covenant and make them considerably less effective on the battlefield, allowing an opponent the opportunity to best them quite easily if they are skilled enough. Force Light from a powerful jedi can cause them to immediately crumble and send the souls of the fallen back into the netherworld. Although they can survive regular force powers such as force push, they lack considerable protection from more specialized force powers that a jedi might use on the field and it makes them quite easy to eliminate because of this.
  • Void Stone or Ysalamiri Bubble
    • When pressed into a ysalamiri bubble or by the use of a void stone. They will immediately crumble into dust and sending their fragmented soul hurling back into the netherworld of the force due to needing the force to empower them and keep them from crumbling back down into immobile skeletons. This makes them vulnerable because they are unable to combat foes that have in possession of these types of force protection objects or biological traits.
  • The Element of Fire
    • Due to being compromised of bones, they are extremely weak to the element of fire and will find themselves burned to smithereens or charred black and unable to be revived again by the summoner because they have already been sent back into the netherworld of the force. This makes them unable to fight against opponents who wield flamethrowers or use pyromancy unless they are backed up by other units which can distract the opponent enough for them to get in and kill them.
  • Decapitation
    • Due to being undead, they have a vulnerability to being decapitated as that will shatter the connection to the rest of their bodies and make them unable to operate their body, as it will crumble into a pile of bone and send the fragmented spirit within back to the netherworld of the force. They also can't be revived on the battlefield by a necromancer because their spirit is too far gone to pull back from the netherworld. Meaning that an opponent can thin the numbers of the covenant with considerable ease using decapitation.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Grave Covenant of the Lichemaster came into existence through a sith necromancy ritual on the Tombworld of Necropolis in the Core Worlds. Traveling their with some acolytes behind him, Darth Mordheim would search among the crypts and tombs of the world to discover ancient warriors or modern warriors that he could revive to serve him and only him. Knowing to himself that the Jedi Order was reestablishing their power and with the sith order distracted with infighting and petty goals like normal. Darth Mordheim would invoke the ritual to revive those that he chose on the world, sacrificing the lives of the acolytes that he brought along to the tomb world to bring the fragmented souls from the netherworld of the force. Binding the fragmented souls back into their former bodies, and empowering them with the dark side of the force to still be able to operate their weaponry and equipment as if they had muscles. These ancient and modern warriors would be the foundation of his Barrow Legion, his personal army that would serve him and protect him from other sith lords that would want to take his knowledge for themselves. These new warriors would be branded the Grave Covenant of the Lichemaster, after the self proclaimed title of Darth Mordheim and become his loyal bodyguard regiment and if necessary deployed alongside organic warriors or skeleton armies as a specialized infantry unit that could combat force user regiments on the field. The Grave Covenant come equipped with several benefits such has being undead, wearing heavy armor and gaining the traits and experience of the former warriors due to being the fragmented soul of the past within them. They have also gained limited protection from the force due to being empowered by the dark side of the force although that protection only extends to regular force powers such as force push. They have taken up residence at Castle Blackmead which is the personal abode of the Lichemaster and Dark Lord of the Sith, Mordheim and accompany him to whatever planet he goes to provide protection.
