SPECIAL FEATURES
  • The Beskar casing of the weapon allows the wielder to use it to protect themselves from lightsabers.
  • Standard ammunition for the Gra'tua consists of .75 caliber rocket-propelled, diamond-tipped slugs that explode upon entering a target.
STRENGTHS
  • Heavy-Hitter: The combined impact of the rounds and their detonation is a one-two punch incredibly difficult to shake off, whether used against armored or unarmored targets.
  • Variable Ammunition: As a slugthrower (even one of such a high caliber), the Gra'tua can fire a range of different slugs for different scenarios.
  • Low Recoil: The fact that the round only needs to leave the barrel and travel a short distance before its propellant activates, along with the weight of the Gra'tua itself, means the recoil produced is surprisingly mild.
  • Blunt Force Trauma: The Gra'tua's weight and beskar casing allow it to be wielded as a rather effective bludgeon if the need arises (though using the weapon in such a manner will typically guarantee extra maintenance is necessary to keep it operational).
WEAKNESSES
  • High-Maintenance: The Gra'tua is a fickle beast, and must be kept in excellent shape to avoid catastrophic malfunctions.
  • Heavy: The Gra'tua is also a hefty bastard, and while this helps offset recoil the weight can be prohibitive to those lacking in strength.
  • Arming Rounds: The rounds must travel a distance before arming, meaning that if used in close quarters or point-blank range the round may pass through the target and explode after exiting, severely decreasing the potential damage.
  • Loud as Hell: The roar of the initial ignition and the detonation of the rounds means that the Gra'tua is a horrible weapon to use if any modicum of stealth is required. It's a rifle that shoots kriffing rocket-bullets.
DESCRIPTION
There are many words used to describe Jiriad Galaar: large, affable, friendly, loud, generous. Subtle, however, is not typically a word associated with the Valkyri Jarl of Clan Galaar. A fan of the M9 "Boomer" heavy pistol, Jiriad wished to create something bigger and badder for the Mandalorians of the Enclave. While the Boomer fires fin-stabilized grenades, the Gra'tua fires large diamond-tipped, depleted baradium-cored, rocket propelled slugs with explosive payloads that detonate upon entering a target, making the rifle an effective tool whether used against squishy or heavily-armored targets. The weapon's name Gra'tua, or "vengeance" in Mando'a, refers to the intention of the weapon to be used against the Mandalorian peoples' longest-standing enemies: Force-Sensitives. The projectiles' velocity, while lower than that of normal slugs, is still faster than a blaster bolt and so is still more difficult to evade, while the slugs' payload is sure to have messy results.
