SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Rugged: The grand admiral's pistol is predominantly made out of hardened beskar, making it extremely rugged and durable against most types of abuse that it might potentially see - it can even resistant a lightsaber's blade for a time or be stepped on by an AT-ST and still be in working order. In order to maintain its light weight, this frame has been carefully, internally skeletonized, which has also made room for several other improved components. In order to keep a matte finish and better protect against environmental corrosion, this frame has black permex finish.
  • Ion/EMP Repairable: This pistol contains a miniaturized de-ionizer that runs throughout the entire pistol's frame. With the press of the button, the entire weapon (and any small items next to it) can be de-ionized and thus restored to working order in the matter of a few seconds.
  • Advanced Galven Circuitry: Burtch's pistol uses some temperamental, but advanced prototype galven circuitry that not only substantially increases the weapon's range for its size, but it also reduces its recoil through very carefully modulated pulses.
  • Variable Fire Modes: While the Fistfire can be used as a basic holdout blaster pistol, it also can alter the gas feed and cycling rate to get different effects. The Fistfire can produce bigger and more damaging bolts at the cost of a lower rate of fire and greater ammunition consumption in its supercharged mode, which effectively turns it into a heavy blaster pistol. It also has a stinger mode, designed to inflict low damage suitable for disposing of small animal pests or only causing light injuries to most humanoids that will not likely kill or grievously injure them, but hopefully dissuade them from further hostile action.
  • Targeting Laser: The Fistfire can use the priming laser of the blaster to act as a visual targeting laser by lightly holding onto the trigger. Doing so projects a faint red light out of the barrel and onto the target/environment that directly corresponds to the forthcoming blaster's bolt trajectory.
  • Stun Setting: Like most blaster weapons, the Fistfire does have a stun setting that works in all fire modes. In typical standard mode, this stun bolt is as effective as that of a typical blaster pistol. On Stinger mode, a single bolt is likely to cause numbness and loss of lccal muscle function, but is unlikely to cause unconsciousness. On Supercharged mode, however, the bolt is exceptionally powerful, capable of knocking out a typical bipedal humanoid for up to half a day if left undisturbed or capable of subduing large beasts like banthas for an hour or two.
STRENGTHS
  • Compact: The Fistfire is a very compact weapon, which can easily be concealed by most people, even if it's just in a pant's pocket.
  • Heavy Hitting (Supercharged Mode): Using significantly more power and blaster gas, supercharged mode makes correspondingly more damaging bolts on par with most blaster rifles or heavy blaster pistols.
WEAKNESSES
  • Limited Ammunition: Fistfire's small size means that it can only hold a limited amount of blaster gas and power.
  • Difficult to Repair: While exceptionally durable externally, if something breaks internally, it's going to be very difficult to repair. The galven circuitry and de-ionizer used in the pistol are almost a one-off productions and are nigh impossible to find outside of the company's own facilities.
DESCRIPTION
Grand Admiral Burtch won the raffle on Damascus Station which entitled him to a custom version of an existing LPD design, of which he chose the Fistfire Holdout Blaster Pistol. Based on the admiral's wishes, LPD engineers customized the pistol to have a longer range and be more durable. To that end, the design team adapted the pistol's frame into skeletonized beskar to make it more durable. To keep the pistol better functioning in adverse EMP environments and to repair damage from ion weapons, they included a de-ionizer mechanism. Coaxing a longer range out of the Fistfire was slightly more difficult, but through computer modeling and some trial and error, they were able to design an advanced galven coil circuitry that manages to fit into the Fistfire's small frame but which still manages to highly focus the particle beam to give it the range of a significantly larger weapon though some very careful focusing and modulating. A side effect of this advanced circuitry design is that it effectively keeps the force of recoil a more consistent lower threshhold and spread its out at over a slightly greater period of time, giving the user the perception of much reduced recoil, making it a more pleasant weapon to fire with better accuracy and faster follow-up shots.
