Just my reading of it, but it specifically states directing firepower at ground forces...would that then mean that a fighter could do supersonic flybys over the ground units?

It'd be a good way to get them to shoot at you, as long as they are being realistic...

Just my 2 cents.

I'll take on more than one of them at a time, provided they don't godmode all over me.

All I need to know is what kind of anti-FU tech we have, what kind of armor we have, and if we have anything for use against slicers, because last I remember they have at least one.

It wasn't something that was dealt with when the rules were being developed and in the proposal the objective was designed to be a "ground" battle. I don't think the rule is ideal either, but it is the byproduct of several days worth of discussion and compromise on both sides. Note that this rule ONLY applies to space vessels. Gunships that are part of most ground battles are not affected by this rule

Welcome aboard, I'll add you to the objective list!

You could always say because Ord Mirit was formerly a Republic world, we would know at least the basic terrain of the planet as it once was in our sphere of influence. We might not know about any specific defenses or deployments they have there, but we would know basic terrain at least for a former member world

Now that I've brought this alt to this faction, I would actually like to swap Maria Natalja for Lilin Imperieuse. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[member="Taeli Raaf"]: You're brilliant, I didn't even consider that. (I didn't know the GR used to own it lol)

I'm going to run that by them and see if they're alright with that.
I remember the Manaan invasion. The OS required proof that any changes we'd made had been put through the Factory, or what was canon remained (it was because they were using a map that was over 1,000 years old and introduced it after the Invasion started).

Which means that - to apply the logic that was imposed at that time - what we left behind is exactly as it is today unless they've submitted something to the boards prior to the 23rd June.

So the precedent has been set - we should know what to expect before we get there :)

That example is out of context Corvus.

What was asked is if the Republic had anything role played or submitted in the "codex" because Silk Holdings did when it came to the roleplayed kolto factories taken over by it the rift. That was brought up only when your fight with syn's Sith Lord at that factory became an issue, one neither involved were able to come to terms and it got brought up to both the faction admins so that they could help settle it.

Manaan is also not the best invasion to point out, because two republic members made a map out of the blue with no previous roleplay, codex entry, or canon backup, hastily Painted on ms paint, given turrets, four different corridors, four bottle necked bridges, and the generator in the middle during the middle of the invasion. Literally, pulled it out of a hat during the middle of the invasion.

One sith admins rolled with it and the members on that objective ran with it. That is the invasion that started all the requests for maps to make it easier. Did it have to be detailed? No. Every explicit layout on there? Nope.

People just wanted a visual.

If you guys have Skype, please add me at David_Tharkosa so that we can get you guys into the group chat that myself, Camellia, and Ali Hadrix are trying to set up. This way we can ensure we dont all go off and do something that in the end hurts our efforts.

The point (and only point) is that the map will be provided by the OS prior to the Invasion and the terrain will look familiar to the GR. Mountains and rivers don't appear overnight and changes/defences have to have been RPed and/or submitted and approved prior to the 23rd June to be included. These can (and should) certainly be a surprise.

And I heartily agree, I was not 'blaming' the OS - given the GR did create a map out of the blue during that Invasion - merely doing my best to be consistent when decisions are made. In truth, I doubt anyone has ever considered what terrain exists - and given we don't know precisely which part of the planet the OS will draw a map of, it's all conjecture at the moment.

A couple of Edits...

An image of the battleground has been shared and it looks like a wilderness - and the actual map will be provided once the Invasion has started.

And I've checked the boards. Ord Mirit must be the least RPed planet in the galaxy! :)
