Description: The Gormak Crystal Alpha-Wave Inhibitor is a combination of a specialized electronic invention and an Upari Force crystal of specific quality, cut according to specific methods. It assists its wearer in resisting particularly virulent Dark Side mental assaults, primarily techniques that aim to cause severe cognitive damage or death. Once activated, the device has a finite lifespan, generally measured in hours when no relevant attack is experienced, and burns out in minutes or less when under stress. The device may be worn or carried, but should generally be kept relatively close to the head. This technology can be used to its full potential by non-Force-sensitives. Note that this technology only engages when serious permanent damage is imminent. Also note that this technology does not magically prevent or remove the mental influence in question, but rather mitigates it. Your average mentally-tough owner of this technology, if faced with a potentially lethal mental attack from a high-level specialist, will generally wind up traumatized and shaken but conscious and mostly functional -- with a partially or wholly burned out alpha-wave inhibitor. This means that the technology only offers a minimal and situational window of opportunity, as a second or third high-end mental attack will face no resistance from the depleted alpha-wave inhibitor.
