  • Distinctions: Gobbari are quite a short statured species, usually being around 4'1 in terms of average height. They have three fingers and one thumb on each hand, and four toes on their feet. Gobbari women tend to be slightly taller than the males. They also sport large pointed ears.
  • Races: N/A
  • Force Sensitivity: High
Strengths:
  • Highly Intelligent - Gobbari are naturally an intelligent people, and they all tend to have very high IQ's as a result. Their natural intellect and wits have proven useful for keeping their people alive despite their scattered and nomadic existence.
  • Knack for Technology - Gobbari have a strange natural talent when it comes to inventing and maintaining technology. Even if they've never encountered a piece of technology before, they somehow have a knack for quickly figuring out how something works and how to build and maintain their own. It is believed this is due to some latent form of mechu-deru all Gobbari are able to tap into.
Weaknesses:
  • Diminutive - Gobbari are not the tallest race, nor the strongest. They tend to make up for this with their wits and their agility, but in a straight up brawl without any of their technology or weaponry backing them, they are definitely at a disadvantage.
  • Hedonistic - Gobbari as a whole tend to be a very hedonistic society. They love wealth, partying and getting absolutely wasted. As such, they tend to overindulge in many vices. It's not uncommon for a Gobbari combat squad to turn up for to a battle still hungover from their "victory celebrations" from their last fight during lengthy campaigns, which can prove a detriment to combat efficiency.
  • Force Nullification - The natural form of mechu-duru Gobbari channel relies on their connection to the force. If cut off from the force by whatever means, they'd be unable to tap into their natural gifts, hindering their aptitude for technology.
CULTURE
  • Diet: Omnivore - Meats, Vegetables, Fruits, Ecetera
  • Communication: Due to their scattered nature as a species, they tend to be well versed in many languages, especially Galactic Basic and Huttese, though as whole they tend to be very multi-lingual.
  • Technology level: Despite being scattered, Gobbari maintain a highly respectable level of technology due to their natural talent for it. They build, salvage and repair what they require.
  • Religion/Beliefs: Gobbari don't really worship any deities, per-say, but they do place high value in material wealth, with the richest amongst their people highly praised and envied.
  • General behavior: Gobbari society is matriarchal, though is by no means dictatorial. Gobbari of both genders are equal in most roles in their society, but overall control is held by their Trade Princesses, the richest and most respected Gobbari females in their society. The reason for this dominance by their females is due to the fact Gobbari females are the "tallest" amongst them. Height is greatly respected amongst Gobbari society, and as the females are always the tallest amongst their own kind, they're usually the ones in charge. Wealth is an important part of Gobbari society, and so merchants are nearly just as common as mechanics and engineers amongst their people. As a result, Gobbari merchants tend to be extremely savvy businessmen. As a scattered people, the largest groups of Gobbari tend to be organized into "Cartels", which are usually based on large space stations, or alternatively, massive nomadic fleets of armed vessels. The Gobbari arn't shy about participating in the galactic criminal underworld, and as a result have an equal amount of legitimate AND illegitimate financial ventures. Amongst the cartels aboard their ships and stations, all money making ventures are legal, as long as the Trade Princesses receive an appropriate cut of all profits, ensuring their financial dominance. Gobbari tend to garb themselves in exotic, flamboyant and often tacky outfits, and many like to dye their hair vibrant colours, like pinks, greens, blues and other bright colours.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION

The Gobbari have long been a scattered people since their destruction of their original homeworld in the Outer Rim over a hundred years ago. This cataclysm was caused by a violent meteor shower, the entire Gobbari population evacuating their planet in a quickly built fleet of starships and scattering themselves across the galaxy. The largest fleets of these ships formed into various cartels led by their Trade Princesses.

Over the century since the destruction of their homeworld, the Gobbari cartels have become an economic powerhouse with both legitimate and illegitimate enterprises, quickly replacing their old ramshackle fleets with vessels bought, salvaged and even built by themselves. They've cornered the black market weapons trade, with Gobbari sold armaments being used across the galaxy, and it's said the Cartels are plotting even grander ventures to increase their wealth.
