MATERIALS
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Biological.
  • Interfaced with via electromagnetic signals.
STRENGTHS
  • Biotech, resilient to Electromagnetic damage.
  • Suggestive influence: Beings that become the host of the coral find themselves compelled to listen to the signals it sends to the brain.
  • Long lifespan: Maintains itself by leaching off of the energy created by the host.
  • Periodic increase in suggestability. If weak willed, the host may feel compelled to follow the orders given to them through the coral.
  • Memory loss: Host may not remember their time under the effects of the coral.
WEAKNESSES
  • Must be ejected with the correct data input. If the coral is extracted forcefully the brain of the host is destroyed.
  • Incapable of piercing armor.
  • Can be resisted by Force Sensitives.
  • Exposure to extreme cold will kill the coral. If the coral is killed quickly it will not have time to damage the host.
  • The coral takes several minutes to latch onto the nervous system of a host. In this time it can be safely removed.
  • A strong will can resist the effects of the coral.
  • Influence take several days to kick in.
DESCRIPTION

Modified and grown by the Gnashing Palm, a black market criminal empire built on the back of biotechnology, the Gnashing Surge-Coral is an evolution of the Yorik-Kul created by the Yuuzhan Vong. The coral is inserted via mechanical means rather than by an Implanter, and the means of control are via electronic signal transmitted to the biocomputer grown within the biotech. The Gnashing Palm created this tech to be a means of creating an army of mindless drones, easily controlled by simple commands. It serves as both a means to quickly gather workers as well as punish those who gain the ire of the organization. While the coral is in the neural system of the host, the individual in question will find themselves compelled to obey the commands transmitted through the coral. If the individual has a high will-power, however, they can resist these effects. The coral can be removed by a specific deactivation signal. When it is the former host is freed, they may forget their time under the effects of the coral. If the coral is forcefully removed from the host it uses a kill-switch signal to render the brain of the host permanently damaged. It isn't perfect, however. While hoping for mindless drones, the will of an individual cannot be fully overwritten. Many have been observed to resist it's effects entirely. It cannot pierce armor, can be resisted by Force users, and struggles to survive in the cold. If the coral is killed quickly with the cold no damage will occur to the brain of the host. The process of influence will not be immediately effective, taking several days to fully manifest.

Very imaginative and cool, however, in most of the sub you write in absolute and there is no defence against it, all on a minor production scale. I'd like to ask you to reword the sub and give players the option to defend against it, because in this case it looks like if you put this on someone, the character will be a lost, and it will be only a shell with no memories or die. It is always the player who decides how something affects them, not the sub or you. With that in mind, please modify the sub.

Alright. I removed the memory erasure and changed it to minor memory loss of the time under the influence of the coral. I also made it so that strong-will could resist the commands entirely. Hopefully that fixes the issue of being too absolute.
