GLEN COWEN

BACKGROUND

Glen's history is a rich one.

It started out like any sop story. Born on Dantooine during the starting points of the Third Imperial Civil War. He'd been a kid still when the New Imperial Order attacked Dantooine.

For some, it was a horror. For others it was liberation. But for an impressionable young man, it was magic. By the time the Sith Empire tried to retake Bastion, Glen had enlisted in the Imperial Forces. One of the many young men, not even able to grow a proper beard yet, on the frontlines as war raged across space.

Glen fought until the Civil War ended, having worked himself up through the ranks of the Stormtrooper Corps, many having been field promotions. During that time, he met a girl within the Corps, married young and continued to fight. It was always a touch and go. But it was on the fields of Vjun that Glenn's life shattered with the death of his wife.

The war had taken everything from him as well, not just from others.

By the time the Brotherhood of the Maw razed Csilla, Major Cowen had had enough of war. With nothing left for himself, he saw no reason to continue the hard fight. He retired with honour. With the amount of skills he had acquired, it did seem a waste to just do nothing, however. So instead of settling on a ranch on Dantooine as if he was an old man all alone, Glenn, still in his prime, took to bounty hunting. It was said to give good credits if the job was done right.

And do it right, he did.

Now, many years later, the Mynock was one of the most experienced hunters in the Galaxy.​

PERSONALITY

Glen was a loyal dog once.

It's still in there somewhere, but it's buried underneath the calculating and observant exterior and adaptive mindset. He's a cool man that doesn't let himself get bullied off a hunt or intimidated.

He's a quiet man, not one to waste words. This causes him to sometimes come across as cold - especially on a hunt. He is also ruthless in a fight or on a hunt and you can bet your rosy skin that he can hold a grudge.

He's not one to form attachments - he sticks to the job and then minds his own business. Mostly to avoid losing anyone else, but they don't need to know that. They can just stay away.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES

STRENGTHS
​

+Hunter- Glen knows how to hunt. He's had plenty of practice while in service of the New Imperial Order. If this man is after you, best know how to evade, because you'll need it. He doesn't lose a spoor once he has it.
+Sniper- With a long, illustrious career in the New Imperial Order, he learned how to use a rifle and use it well. He can take that tick off a whisker from almost a klick away. Best not to find yourself in his sights - be it blaster or sniper rifle, because he won't miss easily.
+Fighter- Though he prefers to avoid hand-to-hand combat, Glen very much knows how to throw punches. You don't become a Major in the New Imperial Order's best Stormtrooper Legion by not being able to stay alive when you have been stripped of weapons. It is best to stay out of his reach should that happen, as he is a lethal fighter.
+Reasonable- Glen's not an idiot. He'll spare a moment to listen to reasoning. Whether he would adhere to that reasoning is another matter, but he's daft. If something makes sense, he might concede - just make sure that it's a decent argument. Otherwise he'll just shut you up.
+Slicer- He's had his fair share of blast doors and high security areas that needed to get into while in the military. It is only the highest of security that will balk him more than a minute to slice through. If he has the element of surprise, there's no door or panel that can keep him out for long.

WEAKNESSES

-No-maj- For all his skills, Glen is still not a Force User and that can be slightly detrimental to his health in certain situations.
-Duelist - Glen might be a good hunter and an exceptionally good soldier, but there's no way he can go blade to blade with a Jedi or a Sith. He can maybe stay alive for a few minutes longer, but he's no bladesman and he will be outskilled in that regard.
-Holds a grudge - Don't piss him off - he'll hold it against you and he will come after you - he gets quite one-track minded like that, which can bite him in the ass somewhere.
-Haunted - Yeah, killing so many people will take a toll on your mental health somewhere. These ghosts of his past to tend to visit him, especially on inconvenient times and it screws with Glen's concentration or something.
-No springchicken - Glen isn't getting any younger. Though that might give him some wisdom and battle experience, it can also slow him down. A younger and more spry hunter or opponent will most probably have twice his stamina.
