Private Glass Sanctuary

Sanctuary Coast, Alderaan
Globe Gardens
It was an impossible task to make every refugee in the city feel at home.

They came from a multitude of places across the galaxy; from families fleeing the front lines of the Second Great Hyperspace War, to entire communities trying to find normalcy after surviving the Bryn'adul's attacks on the Scar Worlds. There were so many home planets affected by both events; Ossus, Csilla, Nirauan, even New Alderaan, this planet's sister. Not to mention the many other conflicts erupting like wildfire everywhere one looked.

Alderaan had a reputation of assisting those in need; a noble past of helping refugees find a home amidst the chaos. Alicio was a recent addition to that legacy, but an eager one. He had been tasked with helping the city of Sanctuary grow and prosper, as a place to call home for those looking for one. As the city was still mostly under construction, the majority of the young nobleman's time was spent in front of a datapad, writing drafts for proposals, helping the new citizens with finding houses and occupations, and scheduling meetings with important voices. He wasn't in charge, but his voice was a strong one, projected by his House. And thanks to that, today was a special day.

Today, Alicio would finally see his first project realized.

The inspiration had struck Alicio when he'd been talking with a broken family from
Charros IV. Their planet had been completely ransacked and terraformed by the Bryn'adul, twisted until it was almost unrecognizable. A young girl had commented that she missed the high plateaus and smell of prairie grasses where her and her father used to play. Bio-domes were not new technology by any means, but to Alicio's knowledge, creating an entire park out of interconnected domes to simulate a multitude of worlds was. Hence, the Globe Gardens.

Alicio stepped out of his speeder, and stared up at the series of high white towers, pride filling his being. Interconnected pathways were pockmarked by shining transparisteel bubbles. Most were still empty, as the Globe Gardens were still under heavy construction, but one was finished.

An older woman with dark skin and white hair stepped out after Alicio, watching as the young man stared. She chuckled.
"Alicio, do not tell me we are just here to stare at the outside."

Alicio clasped his hands together behind him, sending a quick glance back at Ivarra, his bodyguard. "We aren't. We're here to visit Charros IV."

People had always said that "There's no place like home", but for the young Kristyl Vaashe, her heart was in it for the exploration and discovering new places, experiencing new things that were unlike anything she'd seen before. As a youngling, she'd grown up on those adventure vids on the holonet, cartoons of explorers and hero's going out on big trips across the galaxy, finding new life and getting into trouble. It was all very exciting and imaginative for a young girl back then, and perhaps it was also what had led to Kristy's being a bit of a free spirit today.

Alderaan was a well-known world with a lot of history within the Galaxy; a supposedly peaceful and beautiful world with a royal monarchy and various royal houses that acted as some sort of counsel to the Queen if Kristy had understood it correctly. She didn't pay too much attention to that sort of thing but the world had piqued her interest during one of her lectures in history and she had decided then and there that she would one day visit the place!

The day had arrived, and so had the young woman upon public transport to the randomly chosen locale of the Globe Gardens. They sounded pretty and as though they would capture the world's beauty all in one location. Kris being a lover of life and nature, found herself stepping off of the public transport bay and into the big unknown with her eyes skyward and eagerly gazing about the giant globe like infrastructure that housed her, and the great green park laid out ahead.

The pair of Alicio and Ivarra walked into the Globe Gardens, the former much more meekly than the latter following behind. Alicio bundled his coat around him just a bit tighter, as if the taut clothes would banish the populace's recognition. Which he didn't really have to worry about. His face wasn't a recognizable one.

The regular walking space of the Garden was like any other Alderaanian park; full of greenery and nature unparalleled by any other planet. Nowhere else was nature and technology so perfectly entwined than Alderaan. But the domes were what set this place apart. At least, they would, once they were all finished.

The nobleman and his bodyguard entered the one dome that was finished; a faithful recreation of Charros IV. The air suddenly grew cooler, as a realistic alpine wind swirled around them. There was a dirt path on the ground, seperating brown-tinted grass. A small pond was dug out of the center of the bio-dome, filled with oddly-colored black water. It was like stepping onto another world.

Alicio took in a deep breath of mountain air, noting that it wasn't so cold as to be uncomfortable. He also noted that himself and Ivarra weren't the only ones in the bio-dome. A few families couples, and lone figures were wandering the space, enjoying the atmosphere. The young Organa wondered briefly how many of them had called this planet home.

"You did good work here, Alicio," Ivarra stated, giving him a comforting pat on the shoulder.

"Much more left to do," Alicio said back, feeling a bit of pride in his heart. "But this is a good start."

The young man suddenly felt a chill go up his spine, despite the temperature of the room staying the same. He looked around, confused by the sensation. A second passed, before he abandoned his search.

It was just paranoia, nothing more.
