ADVANCED FEATURES

N/A

N/A
Strengths:
  • Deflective Defense: The well armored front along with it's blocky and rough designs while not as elegant is very robust and can take a lot of hits. If attacked from the prow the ship is capable of shrugging of shot that would leave other craft around the same side damaged.
  • Big Engines: The large Capital ship class engines on the ship give it that slight speed advantage, meaning if the strong hull and shielding defense does not cut it the frigate can hightail it away from the fight with reasonable speed.
Weaknesses:
  • Low Arms: Due to the extra armor and stronger engines their was not as much room left for weapons that other frigates around it's size usually. This means even though I can handle a lot of fire it is unable to return it's own substantial counter attack unless supported.
DESCRIPTION

History of Development:
During the secondary phase of the Tythish naval production a small problem came up the size of the navy, design of the craft and the possible war zones. What was a common occurrence with possible enemies the CIS and Imperiam made face was the iconic star destroyer triangle focus fire design. This along with the small fleet that Tythe could field and the inability to craft large ships able to go head to head with the prompted the design of a craft to directly counter it.

Such resulted in a long block shaped craft with a large almost wedge shaped armored front meant to deflect heavy turbo laser, MAC and other sort of rounds. The wedge could also double as a ram if a tricky captain could find the right time to strike without throwing their ship away. In addition this large armor plating also meant that most of the armament (aide for top and bottom mounted weapons) had to be installed in a sort of broadside fashion, giving the front a small blind spot.

Operational Use:
The Gladio Class is a ship of the line frigate, the smallest craft to be produced by the Imperium along with being the most plentiful, poised to act in a supporting role for larger capital ships. A sort of unspoken requirement to have 2 of these accompanying larger cruises and battleships. Being an escort, the Gladio Class is expected to suffer from a decent amount of fire, so along with the extra armor had thicker bulk heads and supporting beams, blast doors and more to prevent structural collapse and depressurization.

As such it is quite the robust craft for it's size and can be used in it's intended role with good confidence that it will last the fight. Even still one has to remember lack of armaments and cannon expect it to go up against other capital ships but itself all the time, usually resulting in long attrition like battle that is will lose eventually.

Please add in 'advanced features' per the template, if you have none simply write in N/A below it. Next, I would reword your strength I understand where you're coming from however the materials you're using for your 'hard hull' are not completely impervious to damage. Nor are they 'almost invulnerable,' so my suggestion would be to simply say as a strength. 'High Defenses' and incorporate both hull and shields into that strength and just write in 'may be able to' shrug off heavier hits. Once these edits have been made let me know and we can move forward!
