STRENGTHS

Combat Mode: Whilst deploying its iconic fanblade, the Ginivex II is capable of utilizing its shielding and ion baffling systems. In addition, the fully extended boom arms allow for the weapon barrels to swivel and pivot, allowing a skilled pilot to take aim at a variety of angles. The combination of these systems make the Ginivex II deadly to contend with - even whilst in pursuit.

Passive Mode: Whilst retracting the fanblade, the Ginivex II is capable of using its hyperdrive unit. Switching to and from this configuration occurs in a matter of seconds and drastically reduces the starfighter's visible dimensions. As such, when attempting retreat or evasion, a skilled pilot can take advantage of the new dimensions and make themselves very difficult to hit.

WEAKNESSES

Cockpit: The bulbous, forward-mounted cockpit is a large and visible target.

Passive Mode: Although smaller in dimensions, this configuration completely lacks shields and is subject to standard, hyperdrive charging times. Furthermore, all weapons are then fixed forward, drastically affecting counter attack potential.

DESCRIPTION

Although synthetic warfare is the cornerstone of the Confederate military, there has always been a need for capable, organic presences on the battlefield. To this end, the Confederate design teams were given the task to provide exceptional pilots a means to excel in a plethora of sorties. Thus, inspiration was drawn from an ancient prototype - the Ginivex-class Starfighter.

The modern successor to the scarcely produced starfighter was designed in the hopes of maintaining as many strengths as possible. However, the design teams soon realized that assigning different capabilities to the vessel's two configurations was a much more stable method moving forward. Thus, the Ginivex II-class Starfighter was born with two identities.

The first - Combat Mode - revolves around the deployment of the iconic Fanblade. By fully extending its boom arms, the vessel reveals its winglike, transluscent fan. This action unlocks a number of key features, such as onboard shields and the ability to swivel the weapon barrels about for better shots. Conversely, activating the second configuration - Passive Mode - revolves around transit. In this configuration, the fanblade is stored, resulting in a compact form and the ability to utilize the hyperdrive unit.

It is to be noted that these configurations can be altered on the fly and take only a matter of seconds to complete. Therefore, a skilled pilot can baffle his or her enemies by modifying how they appear before an enemy. What's more, the craft was designed with maneuverability, not speed, as the paramount sublight trait - and thus agile positioning is one of the Ginivex's strengths.

All in all, the successor to the ancient prototype was designed for usage by skilled hands. It is a versatile, highly maneuverable craft built in the name of organic, space superiority.
