Gif Avatars?

So I've noticed some gif avatars around here, which is awesome! But, I tried to make mine one by putting a GIF as my avatar, but it isn't working? Do I need to do something special?

I tried both doing it through the url and saving it on my computer and trying that way, but neither worked. Here's the link for what I wanted.

Hmm usually the copy Image URL works

Seems to work in a post, maybe you need to resize it?

You can use photoshop to do it if you're aware of how to edit GIFs in photoshop; otherwise search online, there are some online GIF editors which will do it without watermarking your GIF
