Gideon is a master tactician and a gentleman, having been raised among Kuati nobility; although he is of the 'lesser' nobility. It's a simple matter, therefore, for him to handle situations on both the battlefield and among politicians with some ease. However, despite his soldier's physique, there's one thing he wasn't able to solve. At least not yet. The man has a bum lung. In ravaging the population of Kuat, the Gulag Virus changed some of the survivors genetically. The descendant of one of the rare survivors, he is without the use of one of his lungs and not only requires a rebreather built into his armor, but also his armor itself to allow him to function properly in battle. He is also still young and inexperienced, and has no actual combat experience outside of expelling a few raiders into the Kuat System.

BIOGRAPHY:
Born as the Gulag Virus was finally realized as being in retreat, Gideon came into a world struggling to reclaim it's place as the foremost shipwrights in the galaxy. But, although the virus was since gone, he had his own battle to fight with the disease. Due to the virus, he was born with one functioning lung. This made being a child difficult, as he would often get wheezy or out of breath through very little activity.
Still, he persevered as a noble is supposed to, and eventually through medication and training he was able to reach something akin to normalcy even with one lung not functioning. A smart child with a mind for strategy and tactics, his family realized at an early age that a commission in the Kuat Sector Forces might just be a good career path for him. It would allow him to mingle with the upper reaches of nobility (and thus help increase the family's social standing) while providing him a means to do what he thought he'd never be able to do; join the military.
Unable to join the Army, he instead was commissioned in the Kuat Defense Fleet as a Lieutenant of security forces at the age of 18, where he was assigned to one of the larger vessels of the fleet. In the past six months, he was put up for promotion to Captain and was then put into command of part of the security on the Drive Yards themselves. Here's he's been, making a name for himself as an efficient and capable officer.
With the galaxy coming out of it's slumber and the Drive Yards back in operation, it's only a matter of time before someone see's them as a target, and Gideon recognizes they'll need to be ready.
