GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Name: Giant Kyprin Fish
  • Designation: Semi-Sentient
  • Origins: Atrisia
  • Average Lifespan: 300 Years
  • Estimated Population: Scattered
  • Description: The Kyprin fish, or Giant Kyprin Fish, was an abnormally large species of multicolored fish native to Atrisia. They were unique in that they grew according to the size of their environment which meant that Atrisian Royalty could keep the fish in private ponds or massive aquariums. The larger they grew the tougher their scales became and the more docile they were. Predatory animals, they had rows of small teeth, though at their peaks they often were able to simply swallow their prey whole. They were able to live in both salt water and fresh water and were praised for their resilience, though the more polluted their water source the duller their colors with kyprin in very polluted waters sometimes not even looking like the beautiful fish they are supposed to be, colored a dull brown or grey.

denis-loebner-monstrousseacreature.jpg
  • Diet: Omnivorous, they will eat anything
  • Communication: Fishy body language
  • Technology level: N/A
  • Religion/Beliefs: They are considered good luck and to provide prosperity in Atrisia. On Pamarthe they are considered bad luck as they bring flocks of scavengers who feed on its dead scales when the fish gets close to the surface and Pamarthen Lions who follow in its wake to eat said scavengers and sometimes take chunks off of the large fish. They also cause smaller ships to capsize occasionally.
  • General behavior: The Giant Kyprin is an unintelligent fish that typically lives a solitary life in the wild save for breeding season. They aren't territorial but large kyprin typically stay out of one another's swimming area which could be vast swaths of sea. They breed once every one hundred years but grow quickly with many able to reach their "adult" size in the ocean wilds in as little as fifteen years. They are incredibly destructive as a result as the clutches of eggs laid by these massive fish are in turn very numerous. It is not uncommon for feeding frenzies to accompany hatching season.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
the_giant_eastern_land_fish_by_hideyoshi_d9jq5oo-fullview.jpg
Discovered by one of the original peoples of Atrisia, the Jar'Kai, they were cultivated for their beautiful and durable scales in the use of armor, for food, and as pets of status. The tradition was picked up by human Atrisian settlers and continued to the current era. The scales and the fish themselves seen as beautiful the Galaxy over found homes in the oceans of the early hyperspace explorers, the Corellians. Over time the beauty of the kyprin and its ability to live in almost any kind of water gave it the nickname Diamond Fish. It became a symbol of perseverance in Corellian culture. Though it is unclear, many have tied Pamarthe's initial settlement to Corellians. Along with their love of flying and sailing, they also shared the kyprin. It wouldn't be until hundreds of years after the first settlers of Pamarthe managed to reconnect with the Galaxy that they would find out the kyprin is not native to their planet but Atrisia. On Pamarthe, though it is seen as a symbol of perseverance as well, it also is seen as a symbol of misfortune as the beast attracts scavengers and Pamarthen Lions.

The fish was taken as the symbol and name of a Corellian shipwright sometime after the fall of the Galactic Alliance in its war against the Sith-Imperial Bloc.

A solid submission overall, and perhaps I'm missing something, but what's is the specific purpose of the Link "Most Obscure Rebel Ship in Star Wars" and if the link is meant to point toward a particular of that clip, can you specify which?
