OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: GA Standard Infantry Squad
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Classification: Infantry
  • Description: A 10‑person squad forming the backbone of GA ground forces. Teams wear GACA‑14 armor and display unit colors. Their structure includes squad leader, riflemen, heavy gunner, grenadier, medic, and marksman. Capable of both independent ops and integration with armor, air, and special forces.

COMBAT INFORMATION

Strengths:
  • Modular Firepower – With rifles, automatic repeater, grenadier, and rocket launcher, the squad adapts to most threats.
  • Urban & Combined‑Arms Ready – Trained for rooftops, street combat, drops, and integration with heavy assets.

Weaknesses:
  • Limited Protection – GACA‑14 armor resists small arms and shrapnel, not heavy weapons or lightsabers.
  • Logistical Reliance – High ammo usage and weapon variety necessitate steady resupply and support.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Formed as part of the post-Byss reformation of the Galactic Alliance ground forces, the Standard Infantry Squad reflects the modern Alliance's emphasis on flexible, modular warfare. Composed of volunteer soldiers from across the member systems, these squads are issued uniform equipment and training but adapt quickly to local conditions. While lacking the flair of elite commandos or Jedi strike teams, they are the spine of every major planetary operation.

OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: GA Urban Combat Engineers
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Classification: Engineering Support Infantry
  • Description: Embedded within Alliance infantry platoons or attached to special operations units, Urban Combat Engineers are responsible for breaching, demolition, field fortification, and utility support in hostile environments. Equipped with GACA-14 Nemean Armor and outfitted with fusion cutters, shaped charges, and specialized breaching tools, they are trained to clear obstacles, reinforce defensive positions, and destroy enemy materiel under fire. Operating in four-soldier cells, they are most effective in urban operations, subterranean theaters, and sieges.

COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Unit Size: Very Small
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon
  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: These combat engineers perform battlefield breaching, demolitions, structural sabotage, and field fortifications under fire. Their duties range from clearing collapsed buildings to laying explosive traps to rapid emplacement of blast doors and cover positions. Though not frontline riflemen, they are capable of holding their own in close-range engagements. Due to the danger of their tools and explosives, they often operate in pairs or cells just behind the main push, ready to storm doors or rig charges on command.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A

Strengths:
  • Breach and Clear – Engineers are equipped and trained for rapid entry and demolitions under fire, making them ideal for siegework and building clearance.
  • Technical Precision – Capable of sabotage, deconstruction, or reinforcement using heavy-duty tools and field kits.

Weaknesses:
  • Limited Numbers – Specialized training and gear means these squads are small and often in short supply.
  • Explosive Liability – Carrying detonite charges and power tools makes them vulnerable to detonations or splash damage in chaotic firefights.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
As the Galactic Alliance faced increased urban warfare and counter-insurgency challenges during the post-Byss campaigns, the need for compact, mobile engineering support became critical. GA Urban Combat Engineers evolved from outdated sapper doctrines into versatile breaching and utility units. Trained at the Corps of Engineers Academy, these soldiers combine technical aptitude with front-line resilience.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: GA Armored Walker Battalion
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Classification: Armored Walker Battalion (Heavy Armor)
  • Description: A battalion-level formation composed of heavy tanks, assault and support walkers, light planetary tanks, and droid support cells. Units wear GACA‑14 Nemean Armor or pilot jumpsuits and operate under a unified tactical command to deliver sustained armored pressure in offensive and defensive operations.

COMBAT INFORMATION

Strengths:
  • Heavy Strike Capability – High destruction power against enemy fortifications or armor.
  • Combined Arms Integration – Operating alongside infantry, airstrikes, and orbital support.

Weaknesses:
  • Logistics Heavy – Requires extensive fuel, repair, and crew support; limited uptime in extended campaigns.
  • Urban Restriction – Large vehicles are less maneuverable in dense cityscape and narrow corridors.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
The GA Armored Walker Battalion was created in response to the increasing need for high‑impact battlefield formations capable of both offensive and defensive roles in post‑Byss warfare. First deployed during the Siege of Noris, these units proved decisive in forcing enemy fortifications and repelling armored assaults. Walkers and tanks are often supported by infantry and orbital assets to form spearheads during major planetary engagements—ideal for high-intensity defense of strategic worlds.

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: GA Turbolaser Tower Defense Crew
  • Affiliation: Galactic Alliance
  • Classification: Static Heavy Weapon Crew
  • Description: A compact crew of 6–8 personnel trained to operate a heavy surface‑based turbolaser tower (akin to the XX‑10 model) within city skylines or fortress rooftops. Equipped in GACA‑14 armor, supported by a Z‑M0 tactical droid for targeting and diagnostics, and AT‑XV battle droids for security. Crews display unit insignia and shield‑reinforced helmets.

COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Unit Size: Medium (6–8 operators + 1 droid)
  • Unit Availability: Uncommon (requires specialized training and infrastructure)
  • Unit Experience: Trained
  • Equipment:
  • Combat Function: Crews maintain 24/7 readiness to target incoming starfighters, gunships, or armored vehicles. They operate under central command, awaiting fire orders to engage threats in designated airspace envelopes. When offline for maintenance or repairs, they coordinate with nearby infantry and engineering teams to restore functionality. Towers are critical to defending the encroachment of enemy staging zones and softening armor ahead of frontline defenses.
  • Force Abilities (Force User Units Only): N/A

Strengths:
  • High-Powered Support – Turbolasers threaten starships, gunships, and tanks with heavy energy firepower.
  • Deny Airspace – Their vertical traverse makes them ideal for protecting rooftops, landing zones, and high-altitude corridors.

Weaknesses:
  • Static Vulnerability – Turbolasers require fixed power and cooling systems, making them susceptible to sabotage or forced shutdowns under focused attack.
  • Slow Reaction Time – Towers have slow firing cycles and are ineffective against light infantry at close range.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Following the Clone Wars, heavy planetary turbolaser towers—such as the Taim & Bak XX‑10—were refined and adapted for urban defense on key worlds like Coruscant. Their crews are trained through GA engineering brigades and the GADF Navy's ordnance divisions. During the Siege of Noris, turret crews successfully neutralized low-flying gunships, buying time for infantry reinforcement. These towers continue to serve as cornerstone deterrents on rooftops, highways, and orbital shield-gate installations.
