The roaring water, the elegance of the streams, the flowing energy, it was beautiful, and reminded him of the Force. An odd thing to say, really, but it's true when you think about it. The ebbs, the flows, all of it was like the Force, not "light" or "dark", the Force as a whole. It made him think about his parents, about the families that he is a part of and all of the lineage. This was not something that Connell took lightly, but it was an imposing thought.

"Father" would tell stories about how he would meditate inside the grotto, underneath one of the falls. Tempted, the young Vanagor dipped a hand into the waterAAAAND PULLED OUT JUST AS FAST.

YOW! That is cold. Sitting on the edge, he laughed to himself and looked around, mainly out the door to the hall, all of the young Padawans running around, as if late for class. It made a part of him wish he was able to spend his young time here, it was a part of his life that Connell does not regret, he's had a great life but this was a place of legend. Of course it was annoying to see his father on one of the murals in the gathering hall.

There was something fun about his last name, but it was also a bit of a burden, he had not yet carved out his own existence, just an extension of his parents. It will come in time, Connell just had to be patient. It made him wonder if any other bloodlines were out here.

The room had an interesting history and vibe to it, one that attracted Bastila to it's confines - to study and behold the wonders of it. Each fountain seemed to have a different energy through the Force, some forboding and dark while others were bright and flowy. The impression it left upon the Force was enough to draw the many curious minds. Some Jedi found themselves immersed into the Force due to the calming flow of the water, while others utilized the darker ebbs to hone their concentration - while blocking out the negative energies that they projected. It was a perfect swirl of ying and yang, a chaotic ebb and flow of light and dark that somehow remained symmetrical and balanced.

Bastila found herself drawn to the room like many Jedi before her, trying to hone her skill and focus while repelling the negative, and dark energies. Although the skill was one that some could claim was beyond her years, she never shyed away from a challenge.

Nevertheless, she wasn't alone during this session. As she entered through, she noticed a variety of Padawans and Knights about, going on about teachings and how everything in the Force was connected. She kept to herself, going to one of the fountains towards the "rear" of the room, a large one that had water cascading down blackened reddish rock. She would gaze up at it, basking in the essence it projected through the Force. She could feel the anger, the cold rage that bellowed beneath the ethereal webs of the Force.

'This is the one...' She thought to herself, mentally preparing herself for the challenge that lie ahead. 'I can do this...'

Makes you think, doesn't it? Connell noticed the young Padawan walking in, not sure about herself or her surroundings. She looked to know who she was, and her worth, but there was something else. Something Connell recognized right away…

… she had a shadow cast over her…

No, he did not mistake her for something or someone "shady" but that she carried herself like someone trying to carve their own path, not that of someone who came along before her. Having too much experience with this, he did not really worry about what might be going on in her mind as he stood up and looked around. Though the young Jedi Knight was still a bit shy, he could recognize when someone needed something that they didn't realize yet, and shyness did not override his desire to help see that need out. The water flows regardless of what is in front of it, but the obstacles… the rocks… the twigs… they bend its direction but it continues regardless. Much like us.

Walking over, sitting down nearby and dipping his hand again before yanking it out shaking it dry. Yep… still cold… There are those who would try to bend and twist the Force into their will… like one who would dam a waterflow like this… others… we stand in the flow but let it go around and past us… harmony. He shrugged.

Makes you think… well… me anyway… Oh I'm sorry, where are my manners? Jedi Knight Connell Vanagor.

Observing quietly as Connell spoke, his words resonated with her own thoughts and experiences. She couldn't help but agree with his observation about the young Padawan, recognizing the familiar weight of a shadow cast over her.

Connell's analogy about the waterflow struck a chord within her, reminding her of the ever-shifting currents of the Force and the obstacles that sought to divert its course. She appreciated his insight, sensing a shared understanding in his approach to navigating life's challenges. As Connell introduced himself, she offered a small smile and a nod of acknowledgment. "Nice to meet you, Connell," she replied, her tone warm and genuine. "Bastila Sal-Soren." She added, keeping her introduction simple.

His words had given her a sense of reassurance, reminding her that she wasn't alone in her journey to find her place within the Force. Sitting beside him, dipping her hand into the water alongside his, she felt a sense of camaraderie and understanding. In that moment, she knew that she had found a potential friend, someone who shared her quest for enlightenment and harmony with the Force.

With a renewed sense of connection, she felt a warmth spreading within her, grateful for the opportunity to engage in this friendly conversation. As they sat together by the water, she savored the simple pleasure of companionship, eager to see where their budding friendship might lead.

Great, another one…

He didn’t hate The Sal-Sorens, but really with all of the stories, and dogma about them, not to mention the few short interactions they were, a sort. Far different reaction than others, it might have something to do with his shyness, it might have something to do with a sense of discomfort lately. There was something that was starting to make him feel a little uncomfortable, not that Connel made a point of being overt or anything. On the surface the young Jedi Knight was almost as stoic as his father was known for being.

Then… as if on cue…

BARK Buster came running in and jumped right on his lap before taking a long splash filled slurp of water from the fountain. Connel was busy looking around confused.

How did you get in here? He clearly didn’t mind, but was more curious at just how smart this dog really was to find his own way from the ship to here.

Bastila observed Connell's reaction to Buster's unexpected arrival with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. She noted the slight shift in his demeanor, sensing a hint of discomfort beneath his stoic exterior. It reminded her of her own struggles with shyness and uncertainty, especially in unfamiliar situations.

"Looks like your pet has a knack for finding his way around." Bastila remarked with a soft chuckle, watching as the energetic dog bounded around Connell, clearly delighted to have found his companion. "It's impressive how animals can navigate their surroundings with such ease."

As Connell voiced his curiosity about Buster's unexpected appearance, Bastila couldn't help but feel a sense of camaraderie with him. She too was curious about the dog's sudden arrival and marveled at his intelligence.

"It's a mystery, isn't it?" Bastila replied with a playful grin, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Perhaps he has a sixth sense for finding his way to where he's needed most. Or maybe he's just drawn to your calming presence, Connell."

She glanced down at Buster, who was now happily lapping up water from the fountain, his tail wagging furiously. "Either way, it seems like he's made himself right at home." She chuckled softly. "What's his name?"

He was indeed shy and the more the days passed, the more it made sense as to why. Connel was never one to judge, pass judgment on, or force himself onto others (not like THAT you perverts). Connel Vanagor simply wanted to be around those of the same ilk and wanted to feel like he belonged. He had the tools, and the outlook, sure, but he just wanted friends. The more it didn’t seem to happen, the more he shut down. The more it seemed to appear “kliq”-like, and that was a shame in the world of the Jedi. It wasn’t “people are going to like you for what you are, not what you can give them” it was more “what’s your last name? Who is your family?”

His discomfort around Sal-Soren was not personal, it was not her fault, it was just proof of it.

Then she seemed to pull him out of his spiral as he was scratching his best friend behind the ear. He’s a little womprat… Clearly it was a kid at the animal who was more concerned about rubbing his head against Connel’s hand as hard as he could. Then she called him the “A” word(animal) and Buster just shot her an exasperated look that just made Connel laugh hard.

Where are my manners? This is “Buster”... Buster this is “Bastila”... Then the Gallinorerese Mountain Aak Dog puppy split looks between her and Connel. The young Jedi Knight knew what he was wanting.

Go ahead, go say “hi”. The nex tithing anyone knew, Buster was in her lap.
