  Background​

  
  Born on the the Echani's ancestral home of Eshan, Astri was raised in a traditional fashion for her people. From a young age, she was trained in the Echani's ritualistic style of combat—a way of fighting that her people treat as a form of self-expression, just as much as they do a martial art. Though, what often came intrinsically for her people, Astri herself has always struggled with. She floundered and faltered where others flourished in their practice and training of martial arts. While she eventually reached a stage where she was considered adept, her slow progress and lack of interest in fighting often made her an outcast amongst her peers.
  
  She found herself far better suited to schoolwork and lectures than punches and kicks. With her lackluster performance making her something of a pariah amongst the children who might have been her friends, young Astri was never much of a social butterfly. She found comfort in the embrace of old pages and quiet nooks, never lacking for entertainment so long as she had a novel in front of her nose.
  
  As a culture of practicing warriors, both Astri's mother and father have served their people—as well as the Alliance—on the battlefield. Astri's mother was a member of the Silver Jedi Order, serving as a Jedi Knight. Despite seemingly lacking her mother's Force Sensitivity, Astri always admired her mother and aspired to be like her. Her mother's untimely demise during the war with The Maw only emboldened young Astri even further—inspiring her to double down on her training, and finally reach a level of competence that might be considered passable.
  
  Very recently, Astri's sensitivity to the Force came into a late bloom, and she was ushered off to the Jedi Order so that she might finally follow in her mother's footsteps.

  Strengths​

  Booksmart - Astri has always been one to absorb knowledge, much like a sponge absorbs water.
  Inquisitive - Astri possesses a natural curiosity, constantly asking questions about things she doesn't understand—to the annoyance of many.
  Perceptive - Perhaps an offshoot of her inquisitive nature, but Astri rarely misses the small details of any situation.
  Trained in the Echani Art of Combat... - Like most of her people, Astri was trained in the Echani's traditional martial art.
  

  
  Weaknesses​

  Timid - Spending most of her time with a novel in her hands, and not with other kids her age, Astri is usually nervous and quiet when interacting with others.
  Sheltered - Having spent her entire life on Eshan, Astri has little experience with the rest of the galaxy and its many people and cultures.
  Late Bloomer - Having only just recently discovered her Force Sensitivity, Astri is quite behind her peers, and has little to no knowledge or control over
  ...But Not As Well as Her Peers - Astri's ability to fight, while passable amongst her fellow Padawans, is far below what is considered average for her culture.

  After a childhood spent on Eshan, Astri's Force Sensitivity has recently bloomed. Parting from her father, and the only home she has ever known, Astri has been shepherded off to the New Jedi Order to follow in the footsteps of her mother. With the Dark Empire threatening the Core, and the Sith at the borders, never has there been a more turbulent time for a timid girl to be trained as a Jedi.
