Description:
Security is a paramount, though it also provides a problem. Organic beings require rest, sustenance, and various other needs to ensure their physical and mental health. An answer to this is the Gate Master series Security Droid, designed to appear as statues and placed at entrances, halls or other specific locations. Their system is programmed to keep the individual units in standby, with only their Facial Recognition Database running. Upon the discovery of a wanted individual or persons of interest, or potential suspect; the unit activates and steps off of its pedestal (which also acts as a power charging system for the units).
This ensures that a property is manned and secure, even with limited numbers of security individuals. Each droid possesses a vocabulator that can project a feminine or masculine voice, depending on the programming and design of the droid. Each unit also contains a holographic projector which is also capable of recording images for later playback. While a set of twin stun blasters provides units a means to subdue individuals.
A unique system of the droid comes from its Gyro-Servo System; which permits the unit to pivot and rotate its entire upper body, separately from its lower body. A Gyro Stabilization system and microrepulsors aid in keeping the upper body stable and in place during movement. Additionally, if the lower body is for what ever reason damaged or destroyed, the system redirects power to the microrepulsors, permitting the upper body to maintain limited movement and capabilities.
The primary weakness of the units is in the Gyro-Servo System. Due to it permitting the upper and lower portions to move separately, the servos can be easily damaged. Often a precise shot can knock out the droid, or prevent its full range of movement. Even with the back up system of microrepulsors to permit the upper body movement independent of the legs in such a situation; the microrepulsors themselves are delicate and can only operate for a set period of time before they can no longer maintain the weight of the upper body.
