POINTS OF INTEREST:
The Listening Post - Takes up Sections A and B, housing First Order Security Bureau agents, Naval Intelligence, Cryptologist and other intel/security related officers, non-commissioned officers, the enlisted and contracted workers. The Listening Post is the most notable feature with the prominent satellite that sits on the top of the stem, this satellite enables the Listening Post to active a long range communication array which enables the station to actively listen to both allied and enemy communication, but at a depreciating rate of return.- The Combat Information Center - Takes up Section C, this is where combat for the sector is monitored and coordinated from. The Command Center, housed in Section D rounds out the CCC, or the Combat Command Center where tactical, security and strategic operations officers work together to ensure the safety and defence of First Order space. The CCC also houses station security, sector patrol coordination and starfighter corps command operations for the station and the surrounding sector.
- Residential Rotunda - There are several Rotundas throughout a Galidraan-class space station, there is Rotunda Epsilon, Rotunda Indigo and Rotunda York. Each one takes up two sections, and houses civilians, officers, non-commissioned officers, the enlisted and other personnel who will be residing on the station. Each Rotunda also offers amenities to those who reside here including, hygienic care centres, laundry services, fitness facilities and holofilm theatre suites.
- Promenade - There are exactly two promenades, one in the upper portion of the stem and the other in the lower. Each one houses a commissary, recreational lounges and other businesses that are contracted to serve the First Order and her citizens. A promenade takes up exactly two sections.
- Engineering - Perhaps the largest portion of any given station, engineering takes up seven sections. Engineering his housed in the base of the stem going up. Engineering is also where parts of the station and ship repair are housed, manufactured and fabricated.
- Shipyards - Not so much external as it is internal, capable of housing most corvettes and frigates, the shipyard can service two-three vessels depending on their size. Equipped with worker drones and a droid workforce, FOCIE can make repairs to even the largest of Star Destroyers, although those ships would have to stay parked outside of the station.
- Medical - Taking up four sections, the medical sections of the station are generously equipped to serve the needs of the population surrounding the station, as well as, First Order personnel.
- Logistics - Takes up two sections, and primarily houses the cargo and loading bays with smaller offices for logistics management throughout each section.
- The Hangar - Takes up six sections, and isn’t just the hangar, this also includes the flight deck, a tower control centre and fighter maintenance bays.
- Sector Traffic Control - Another two sections devoted to maintaining sector traffic, with at least half of it devoted to just traffic around the station. This section coordinates heavily with the Starfighter Corps.
- Stormtrooper Garrison - Room enough to keep a minimum of one company, and up to a battalion maximum in an emergency, the Garrison features a blaster range, combat training, leadership training and other Imperial Army educational facilities to keep the men and women on their guard. The Stormtrooper Garrison takes up another four sections and sits opposite of the hangar.
[*]Description
- The Galidraan-class defense station serves as sector command for six sectors, Anoat, Dosuun, Thakwaa, Val'Hala, Vortusa, and Tel'Erra. They became more than just sector command stations, serving as trading, medical and points of service for the government and various diplomats. Sitting at 2,800m in length the Galidraan is compared to stations from the archives namely the Vaiken-class Spacedock. In fact, that is exactly where the First Order Corps of Imperial Engineers drew their inspiration for the exterior. The inside of the Galidraan is fairly similar with the exception of its center. It does not house a bar or cantina, but rather is the heart of the station operating as the 'core.' The core is essentially how engineers get to and from vital areas of the station, all major components run through the core to the base of the station into engineering.
- Her hangar serves six squadrons which are typically four squadrons of Starfighter Corps including TIE Fighters, TIE Defenders or TIE Interceptors the other two squadrons are left to shuttles, runabouts and auxiliary craft to assist the station's staff with various missions throughout the sector or nearby systems. Typically her garrison holds up to two companies, in some sectors she will house the maximum of a battalion of troops meant to defend the interior of the station from boarding actions. Much of the Galidraan's civilian population is hardly permanent most are thru passengers, here for a drink or two and nothing more. Temporary quarters are not something that can be easily obtained outside of government, diplomacy or military personnel. This isn't to say there aren't any places to stay, vendors who purchase the appropriate licences are able to operate a small motel within the promenade or docked facilities adjacent to the station.
[*]History
- Post Castameer, the First Order realised her defenses weren't nearly as formidable or as organised as they would have thought. It became clear that no one quite realised the First Order's potential and in some ways neither had the First Order. While recovering from her injuries Adm. Fiolette Yvarro along with a team of developers went to work on creating the Galidraan-class station. A station that would enable the First Order to have better control over its sector a way to visualise that control, even. This allowed for the Navy to organise itself into sector fleets and planetary defense fleets. The First Order went to work gathering up the necessary resources to build the station, including the scrapping of stations or other projects in the works to send their materials to the construction of these stations.
- Plans for the stations had been in the works long before Adm. Yvarro managed to get her hands on them, varying in their name changes from Kalast-class, Kerkov-class and other names floated about. It was the Galidraan-class namesake that stuck in honor of not only her homeworld but that of the Grand Moff's homeworld as well. The station would be practical, and elegant in its design and make, therefore earning the name Galidraan.
