  • Intent: To provide the OPA with a cell to perform black ops missions like infiltration and assassination
  • Role: A unit that Lilia Arma is a member of and act as a cell within ORION
  • Permissions: N/A
  • Links: Rebel Infiltrators
GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Galactic Liberation Division
  • Affiliation: Lillia Arma OPA
  • Classification: Black ops
  • Equipment:
  • Description: The GLD bears a unique armor that was worn by the Rebel Alliance infiltrators of the Galactic Civil War. What their predecessors have done before in fighting for freedom from the Empire, the GLD carries this tradition in liberating oppressed sentients from grand-scale oppression. They are deployed in teams of 4-6 and wear light armor in favor of stealth and maneuverability. They are masters in hand-to-hand combat, stealth weapons, and all forms of blasters, making them some of the galaxy's deadliest soldiers.
COMBAT INFORMATION:
  • Unit Size: Medium
  • Unit Availability: Rare
  • Unit Experience: Veteran
  • Combat Function: The GLD act like any other special forces unit and are always at the ready whenever they have an op to perform. Direct Action is their specialty and are usually never the ones to perform espionage. Their specialities are infiltration, assassination, and sabotage. Freedom fighters turned natural killers with their lack of empathy for the people they kill as they follow a strict ideology that vilifies their target making its members more committed to die for their cause and serve a purpose.
Strengths:
  • Seasoned Veterans: The GLD was birthed from a group of freedom fighters from Alderaan who have roamed the galaxy killing and plundering the wealthy, slavers, and pirates.
  • Knowledge of the Galaxy: Their efforts would be for naught if they hadn't learned how to tame the culture of the galaxy. They know how to plot appropriate courses, read star charts, and posses information on all known worlds and the galaxies different species.
  • Efficient: When GLD operatives aren't activated, they take part in other activities to make money, legally. Many operatives provide their services in profitable markets with whatever skills they may possess thanks to affiliation with the OPA.
Weaknesses:
  • Highly specialized: While GLD operatives are deadly and efficient operatives, they don't really take on new recruits because operatives are self made. All members are well associated with one another and know a lot about each other's tactics and specialties. Bringing in new recruits is rare and when they do, they would already need to have experience in some form of special ops related training.
  • Ideologically driven: The GLD has its sites set on specific individuals and groups and usually their ideology leads to be hostile towards specific to those individuals and groups right off the bat. But on occurrence they'll cooperate with certain people to accomplish their goals if need be
  • Lightly Armored: They're infiltrators and assassins, they can't operate in conventional warfare and can be overwhelmed with heavily armored opponents in open conflict if they don't plan accordingly.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Before they were called the GLD, they were a small freedom fighting force on Alderaan. They were ex soldiers and laborers who wanted to abolish Alderaan's aristocratic government for its disregard of ordinary people and their lives. The lack of fluid social mobility, conflicts between the houses, and favorability towards the upper classes lead a lot of citizens moving into the countryside of Alderaan in secret, consolidating. Overtime they've confronted Alderaan's royal armies and won a few engagements, but these were just skirmishes. As the Alderaanian elites started getting anxious and requested assistance to deal with the rebellion. What came were two Jedi, one of them being Lillia Arma who already had her dispositions against a lot of the galactic hierarchies in place. Lillia was sent undercover to learn the rebel's secrets and how to exploit them. But as she stayed, she sympathized more with their cause and ended up joining them, revealing herself to be a Jedi sent to expel them. She convinced the rebels that they had to leave the planet and Alderaan would let them go and they would continue to be hunted on their own planet. Their best bet was to not rebel in Alderaan or else it would be met with major retaliation. With some debate and convincing, Lillia and the rebels stole a few transports and roamed the galaxy for a while. They set up shop on Ord Mantell becoming weapon smiths and technicians for a bit. Many rebels at this point had wanted to go home and there were many confrontations between them until they learned about a slave ring that was present on the planet. Knowing that they were better off starting small, they organized a plan to bust the slavers and within a night, two teams had left no one alive.

This bust brought back the camaraderie that had started to fade and so the rebels believed they would roam the galaxy killing anyone who would oppress and exploit people for the good of the galaxy. They left Ord Mantell with a massive amount of credits to their name and found themselves in Confederacy space where they robbed a couple viceroys of their credits and distributed them to the less fortunate people of the planets they inhabited. They killed a few pirate gangs in the inner rim and busted a huge criminal empire on Takodona who performed a lot of illegal trafficking into the core.

Their eventual successes had lead to a boost in morale and they felt they needed a name to identify themselves as and they went with the Galactic Liberation Division. Sworn to free people of the galaxy from all unjustified hierarchy and oppression. Their hierarchy was highly decentralized and operatives would vote on others to carry out operations, plot destinations, decide who to take in, etc. Lillia's wisdom and skills had gained her a lot of respect in the GLD, giving her a lot of say in their voted positions.

Eventually they stumbled upon the Outer Planets Alliance and sympathized with their cause of maintaining the independence of the Outer Rim. They would be accepted into their ranks as a clandestine cell under ORION and Lillia was chosen to be liaison between the cell and the OPA and work as an ORION operative while the GLD would lie in wait in their new headquarters in Kathol, waiting to be called upon while they grow stronger.
