With the standardization of the GADF, the army needed a uniform amongst its officers to display unity among all Alliance personnel. The AIL designed the uniform to be sleek, comfortable, and adaptable in different climates. On colder planets, the uniform can be worn under a winter coat for a layer of warmth. The armorweave also provides certain protection against blaster fire from a certain distance while the helmet can protect officers in the field from certain debris and sniper fire. But the uniform isn’t blaster-proof at all and its recommended that officers where extra armor when in the field. The utility belt allows for more specialized personnel to carry whatever tools they need to perform their tasks. For example, medical officers might carry first aid or surgical instruments while an engineering officer might carry a scanner to run diagnostics on a vehicle to assess damage. With the GA having enemies on multiple fronts, all personnel must be ready for whatever is being thrown at them. A light and recognizable uniform allows the wearer to direct forces under their command and perform specialized tasks whenever necessary.
