ADVANCED SYSTEMS
  • Kiffu Power Generator: After the planet Kiffu joined the Galactic Alliance, much of its technology about harnessing and processing massive amounts of energy was used in the development of the AVS Tython. More specifically, a power generator was built to supply the ship's one special weapon — an Ion Burst.
  • Ion Burst: No ship can fight when its systems are disabled. This was part of the philosophy behind the design of the AVS Tython, and the reason why it has many Ion weapons. But in addition to its conventional Ion Weapons, power from the Kiffu-built generator can be harnessed for a huge Ion Discharge at the very front of the ship. This burst of Ion energy is a precision weapon, capable of knocking out even other large capital ships. While it targets a single ship, other vessels close to it can be struck by the discharge as well, potentially leaving them disabled.

STRENGTHS
  • Extreme Armament: The AVS Tython possesses an immense arsenal of weapons, capable of destroying targets at both long and short range.
  • Ion Burst: Fueled by the Kiffu-built Power Generator, the AVS Tython's Ion Burst is capable of disabling larger capital ships in addition to its already impressive arsenal of conventional Ion Weapons.
  • Extreme Defenses: In addition to its impressive amount of weapons, the AVS Tython has been given powerful shielding, thick layers of armor of the most expensive metals and alloys, and various countermeasures to ensure the safety of its crew.

WEAKNESSES
  • Poor Speed The AVS Tython was not built with speed in mind. Due to its large size and heavy loadout, the ship is absolutely not fast, even for its class.
  • Vulnerable when isolated: Without support ships, the AVS Tython is a huge target that can be overwhelmed by smaller ships coordinating their assault.
  • Precision Weapon: The Ion Burst is a precision weapon, fired from the very front of the ship. Its firing arc is thus limited, and requires the AVS Tython to line itself up with its target. In addition to this, the burst will generally only hit a single target, unless other ships are positioned close to it.

DESCRIPTION
During the Era of Reclamation, the Alliance was finally recovering from the Maw's war path towards Tython, and launched a program to design and build new ships to help turn the tide of the war. While many were completed leading up to the end of the war, the design and construction of a new Star Defender to lead Alliance fleets took much more time. With the best engineers and scientists from across the Alliance, the AVS Tython was developed to provide the Alliance Navy with extreme firepower and durability, but also an entirely new ability.

Using Technology acquired from the planet Kiffu, scientists developed a new power generator capable of harnessing immense amounts of energy, and coupled it to a large Ion Weapon built within the front section of the ship. When locked on target and discharged, the beam of Ion Energy is capable of disabling even the largest ships. Paired with more conventional Ion Weapons, the AVS Tython is built to not only destroy, but disable its opponents to leave them vulnerable in battle.

Now, even though the Second Great Hyperspace War is over, the AVS Tython finally joins the Alliance Navy during a time when new conflicts are starting to emerge, and its crew is ready.
